Fantastic stay on quiet site. Active farm with livestock all around, we were luckily enough to get a tour of the Sheep and Aberdeen Angus! Dogs were brilliant.
Good toilet, you need your own shower. Close to Malham and plenty of walking.
Would definitely stay again

Very quiet, secluded spot. Well away from the road, near the farmers house. Overlooked by cows and calves and 2 rheas!
Farmer David is great. It’s a working farm and he will show you round if you show an interest. He had beef available for purchase when we were there. It was very good. I bought more to take home.

Fantastic site. Lots to do in the local area. A very quiet site where you are guaranteed peace and quiet.
No showers. We used our own for the first time which was great.
There is a toilet which is absolutely spotless.
The owner David is a lovely friendly chap with a great sense of humour and really friendly.
We will return

We would recommend this site to others.
No places to walk to you must have a bike or vehicle. Nearest shop is a drive away. Good flat pitches

We had been due to stay at Hurries Farm after Xmas 2011 but we had to change our arrangements and this May 2012 trip was the first chance we had had to re-book.
The route to the site is narrow irrespective of which direction you approach from but there are plenty of passing places available - you just need to look ahead for oncoming traffic.
The site is accessed through the farm yard and is tiered but all pitches have hardstanding and electric points. Levelling blocks were required but that was only to get truly level and is probably unnecessary if you were to “shuffle” around the pitch a bit.
The owners, David & Wendy, were perfect hosts, always available to chat to and seek advice from etc. The site is a working farm with cattle, sheep and three rheas on the adjacent field.
One earlier comment was that the site has no direct access from the site for off road walks and this is true, but a short walk along the road into Airton [3/4 mile] gives access to the Pennine Way either north to Malham or south to Gargrave [alongside the infant River Aire] as well as lots of other footpaths of equal interest.
The nearest shop appeared to be at Hellifield [as well as a super fish & chip shop!]. Airton itself has no pubs [in fact it is a “dry” village in accordance with its Quaker traditions!] but there is a tea room/shop on the northern outskirts. Malham & Kirkby Malham are well served with pubs, tea rooms & touristy shops though.
The one slight negative comment about Hurries is the less than salubrious CDP which is some way from the pitches and the wash out point is in a barn close by.
In conclusion, Hurries Farm ticks most of the boxes of our CL/CS requirements and we would thoroughly recommend it for a restful stay.

I did not use the toilet but my husband said it was clean. Please be aware there are no walks directly from the site.
You will need to go in your car and drive to find walks, as in august we found the road outside the site to be quiet busy, and there are no footpaths.
Farmer allows you to exercise your dog in a field on a lead as there are sheep. Very small site. No where for kids to play.
No pub or shop etc close by but that didn't bother us, this is the dales after all. Farm dog friendly but a bit of a nuisance at times.

We stayed one night - turned up without booking and were lucky to get on - popular site when full in November.
Hard standing pitches with good room between each. One toilet - very clean and well kept - no showers. Although the site if just off the road its very quiet as the road seems little used. The site is situated a few miles off the A65.
The owners sell beef and lamb at what seemed like very good prices.
The village of Otterburn and the next village, Airton are well worth taking a trip out to see - beautiful Yorkshire stone and looking like picture postcards.
Would recommend this site.
