We stayed at this site with our labrador for 3 nights in August 2013. Despite some negative reviews, if you can cope with the very basic facilities, this could be the one for you? As it was only £6 Pound a night for the 2 of us including our dog. Yes, it is true that the Toilet/Shower block does need refurbishing. On the up side, the shower was free and provided plenty of hot water. Their are 4/5 caravans on site, these are occupied by workmen building the Brandon Bypass (not gypsies or vicious dogs as a previous review states). The pub food was tasty and reasonable as was the beer. Great place for a budget break, if you are out and about discovering the Suffolk Country side.

Booked for 2 nights at the Ram, due to a hold up at work we had to cancel the 1st night. Blessing in disguise the place is awful. Basically a field behind a pub with water supplied via a garden hose lying in the drive. The toilet/shower was dreadful although we were allowed to use the one in the pub albeit not much better. Railway line runs along the back of the field so a bit of noise from there and music from somewhere close by until early hours of morning.
High street and shops close by and the people in the pub were friendly enough, it's also very cheap but unless you have toilet shower in your van its far from ideal.

A very basic site! Toilet block is appalling. No proper Elsan point. A hose that sits on the floor and gets dirty. Basically a field behind a pub. Whole place very makeshift and not secure.
But if you can live with this it's a brilliant location. Just a mile from Cycling trails in Thetford forest and Brandon Country Park. River a minutes walk away. Lots of shops and cafes in the village. Good location for exploring a lovely area of the country.
It only costs £10 a night! Don't think I'll go again though.

We have just spent 3 nights here with our 5 children a caravan and campervan. The site is very basic, but we loved it as it had all we needed. There is electric for a couple of vans. The toilet and shower is all in one and very old and smelly. The site is behind a pub, which we had stayed in some years ago and we found this to be good value with excellent food. The local village has an Aldi and lots of takeaways, restaurants and coffee shops. There are other hotels nearby.
The best thing for us was it is really cheap, still only £10 per night for all of us including electric and it is minutes from the amazing thetford Forest, where we spend all of our time.
We plan to go back for a week in August. If you do not expect too much and want to spend some time in a lovely area, you will be happy with this. If you are looking to spend your days on site, this isn't the one for you. But we loved it
