This site sells itself on peace and quiet so no swimming pool, shop or restaurant and a small play area. A small stream runs through the site so not perhaps suitable for small children. BUT there are large, flat, well cut pitches with wonderful views of the surrounding mountains still with snow on in June. The owners speak a little English and are very helpful. There is a boulangerie and small village shop nearby. There is a new set of toilets and everywhere is very clean.
The surrounding area is magnificent with lots of narrow roads up high giving wonderful views of the valley however the road into Allemont from Grenoble is very easy to tow on and the access to the site is easy as well.
We came for a week and stayed over two which says it all.

An older campsite that lives up to its name; calm, spacious and quiet. Wonderful flat valley floor location (soft stone free ground for your tentpegs too!). The campsite has a delightful owner/gardian couple (they speak pretty good English) for whom nothing was too much trouble. (They even fixed a water pump problem on the 'van for me!)
Top tips - 1.Find a pitch with early morning sunshine,.You'll be up at altitude between snow-capped mountains here so the overnight temperatures can drop fast! 2. Take a long hook-up cable.
A big plus was the beautiful soft tap water from melting alpine glaciers!
Allemont village has a superb traditional bakery only 200m from the site, an open air pool (summer holidays only) two pizzerias, a pharmacy, tabac, library, medical centre and a huge reservoir where windsurfing/small sail boats and even pedallos can rented. Do try the moules frites at the lake side restaurant!
If anyone is a keen cyclist (as a good 50% of the other campers seemed to be) this is a mecca several of the big mountain road cols are nearby as are the infamous assents to Vaujany and Alpe d'Huez! They are just as amazing by car.
There is even a Bisson farm in Allemont if you fancy seeing a 1-ton bovine face to face (or trying the steaks!)
10 our of 10 for a calm, tranquil few days camping.
