We arrived about 2pm just for the night. We we're heading home. We were taken to a field with electric and water near a lake. Paid £25.

On first appearances the site seemed very nice. Lovely fishing lakes even though we don't fish

Right on the river 7.

All of these impressions vanished after about 10 minutes. I visited the ladies toilets and shower room, you get in using a code. I was appalled at the disgusting state of the toilets and the 1 shower. Dirty, scruffy and there was no way I was using the shower or the toilets again unless I had to.

When I got back to the pitch I could smell old fat that had soaked into the ground from other peoples bbqs.

After a short while we deduced that some of the neighbours were clearly living on site. I won't go into detail.

My fella had a stroll to check out the pub and said at the side of the pub near the river the littering was terrible and a shame.

Couldn't wait to leave the next morning.

The score I'm giving is based on the fact that the actual site has great potential but unfortunately is not managed well at all.

Needless to say we won't be revisiting this site.

Been before so arrived on site and paid site owner £20 per night for a 2 night stay.

If you don’t need electric you can park wherever you like.

Went and found a nice spot by the lake parked up and relaxed with a few drinks.

This is a nice site with a pub on the grounds.

Bad points :

People turn up at dusk and pitch up so they don’t have to pay.

Campers have no regard for anyone surrounding them. Playing “their” music way too loud, if you don’t like it it’s tough.

Toilets have a code on the doors but people wedge them open so kids can fill their water bombs.

Some people let their dogs roam freely to do their business wherever they like.

As we have a dog, the dog in question loitered around our camper and left several surprises which I cleaned up as I find it extremely bad mannered. It wasn’t our dog because they were done during the night.

Gentleman who runs the site should monitor the site better and set a noise curfew.

This is the third and last time I will visit

This is a very popular site so the wardens had a job on their hands 😂

Beautiful grounds and clean facilities

Some noisy families but it was bank holiday

Nice site along side river, toilets could do with ungrading but clean.

Pub on site but no chef so could not eat there.

Good fishing there and very good for dogs, plenty of walks in 3 huge fields,

I will be back.

Lovely pool to fish in and campsite is nice and in a quiet setting.

The Wharf is on site and food is good, the only down side to this was some of the other campers who had no respect for the other campers by playing loud music and shouting at each other in the early hours of the night.

Very helpful campsite wardens. Beautiful setting with lovely walks for the dog. Huge amount of Canadian geese and ducks, which are friendly but inevitably they leave behind their droppings, which means you need to tread carefully.

It's a 60 + pitches campsite spreading over 2 fields, with only 1 shower ( lovely hot water ) & 2 toilets per gender.

No wifi, although it has been promised for the future. Very poor mobile phone reception. There is a very handy shop just outside the site.

There is a bus stop outside the gate, but no buses. There is a lovely view of Georges pond, where numerous anglers congregate to try their luck.

Brilliant for a peaceful stay, with the pub on site serving delicious food.

The wharf is a very nice place to say we have a seasonal pitch on here as we really enjoy it people are very friendly.

The wardens Tim and Maddie are a lovely couple who are always always around if you need them the site in general is very well maintained.

The toilets and shower was very clean there is nothing to complain about here

We are very happy

There is a shop around the corner and there is also a pub on site for a bite to eat while looking over the river

Arrived for 2 night stay on a weekend. You can pick your own field and basically park yourself wherever you like.

Reception not very good for mobile and no WiFi available. Toilet facilities are 2 toilets and 1 Shiower each gender for the entire campsite and no washing up facilities.

The site doesn’t have much in the way of local places to visit so have to travel further a field.

There is a pub on site that is open to none campers which was very busy creating more traffic and noise.

Major downside is that there are no security or wardens checking on campers which meant a weekend of the first evening loud music being played at full volume from inconsiderate campers until past midnight followed by the next evening singing and shouting until 3. 30 am. After what was suppose to be a relaxing weekend turned into an exhausted nightmare.

Neighbouring campers complained but was told nothing could be done. Only assume they were to scared to deal with the families making the noise or regulars.

I wouldn’t recommend this site unless you like camping with the Shameless type families but then I suppose the price and that you can just turn up gives a good indication to why there are spaces available when most decent sites you have to book way in advance.

The site was lovely and clean though easily accessible from the river on foot.

Dog walkers a plenty were passing through.

As it was the opening season after the covid lockdown the toilets were 1 in 1 out which was fair enough but really difficult when desperate for the loo.

The children enjoyed the little park available and the plenty of space to play ball.

Would have been more pleasant if there were more portaloos around the site

Would be so much better if you could pay for fishing along with your camping not just separately.

What a find and it's on our door step too. We had only just brought our caravan and wanted to go away but not too far from home when we stumbled upon this little gem!

The site is not very big in size yet has everything that you could need. There is a pub on site which sits beside the river or you could walk across the bridge to another pub which serves food all day, everyday.

There is a shop and off licence on the road outside of the site which stocks most items plus gas if need. Toilets and showers are clean and tidy. There is a well stock fishing pool too.

Staff are very helpful and are always around to help out.
