Stayed here for 8 nights as part of a 7 week tour with caravan and think it was our favourite camp site. Close to river and fairly easy to find although for some reason satnav struggled to find actual entrance (if you are facing the public swimming pool its tucked away over on the left). Warm welcome from Maurice the owner, a lovely man who can speak 15 languages including English, he was nothing but pleasant and helpful through out our stay.
Site is mixed with camping pitches and permanent 'lodges and chalets', some of there are semi-permanently occupied but this isn't a problem and everyone very friendly. Showers and toilets a bit on the basic side but perfectly serviceable, washing machine available (had to ask), its a very dry area so pitches are quite dusty but lots of shade from the trees. Well stocked supermarket about 5 mins drive away, the village is fairly quiet but has a few bars/restuarants. Local swimming pool is actually closed and site doesn't have its own pool but is next to river.
The campsite has a bar & restaurant during peak season - again don't be fooled by appearances, from what looks like a fairly ordinary pizza van and bar 'tent' fantastic food and lovely company emerges. Jeremy is in charge of the food and we had one of the best pizza & salad meals we've ever had, Valerie and husband Loic run the bar and wait on tables, such lovely people, we were very sorry to leave them. We were lucky enough to be there over the Bastille Day weekend, Jeremy and his team produced an amazing 3 course meal for 122 locals & campers !. Fairly easy drive to Nimes, great cycle path (old railway line) into Remoulds and Beaucaire. Easy to pick up kayaks in Remoulin and paddle down stream and under Pont-du-Gard. Can highly recommend visit to Carriers de Lumbers in Les Baux-de-Provence (Maurice will tell you about it) an unforgettable experience.

It is now 2013, three years since we were last there, and just by looking at the camp's website I can see that this place has changed out of all recognition. Obviously new owners have taken over, and have had a field day constructing wooden chalets in large numbers. My previous report is therefore now well out of date, and the undeveloped, laid back, casual camp site that we knew is now quite different. So please go and look and see whether it is to your taste - it might possibly be better.

I hesitate to recommend this site, because when you arrive many of you will think it is scruffy, a bit untidy, and not very well looked after. But.It is in the middle of the Avignon/Arles/Nimes triangle, and so many of the sites in this area are overcrowded, overpriced or over organised. Camping Belle Rive is the antidote to all that.
If you want relaxed, casual, laid back camping in a shady little wood on the river bank - a few miles downstream from the Pont du Gard- then you may see the attraction of this place after all. There are no rules or regulations, you park where you wish, on the river bank or under the trees. There's an alfresco little cafe and bar to one side, someone may be singing quietly there, or playing a guitar, or they may not - it's very informal.
The toilet block is sound enough, though needs a bit more TLC - it could be better, and in truth it could be cleaner. And it's up ten steps so isn't disabled friendly.
So Belle Rive will not be everyone's cup of tea at all. But it's spacious, shady, and far from full even in mid August. The public swimming pool is next door, the village bull ring next to that, and Montfrin village is fascinating.
You might like it here, or you might not.
