This site is a mixture of Grass and Hardstanding pitches together with rented accommodation in chalets (not more than a dozen scattered around the site).
The Hardstanding pitches tend to be reserved by the owner for Motorhomes. The grass pitches are set in 3 main areas encompassing about 15-20 units in each one.
There are a few seasonal units on site. There is a grassed area at the rear for tents. The units have to be pitched sideways and the car must be parked in a central communal area after unhitching and unloading the necessary equipment from it.
The same applies in reverse when leaving, otherwise no cars on the pitch areas. We had/have no problem with this set up. Electric is 6 amps and it is possible to get the unit level on most pitches without blocks.
Grey waste can go into the hedge area. There is a good amount of tree and bush cover around the site to protect from any, mainly, westerly winds coming in off the large lakes nearby.
The shower block is excellent with separate male and female areas with toilets and showers in separate areas themselves. 4 showers and 4 toilets in each block. Paper provided.
The showers are operated by €0. 50 coin and water is hot and plenty long enough for a decent shower. There is a covered pot washing area.
Chemical toilet to one side of the block and M/Home emptying and filling point to the other. Entry and exit is by barrier, €20 deposit for fob. Exit is automatic.
The site does offer ACSI rates at the appropriate times. Access is straightforward if one follows the directions of the site in the ACSI book. Otherwise leave the A6 at junction 10 and turn along the main drag through Lelystad heading straight through 4 roundabouts until you get to a roundabout where you can only turn left or right. Turn left and follow this road for about 1 mile. Sign for site on right (or Toms Creek, a fishery). Go past this fishery and site on left in 400 yards. Excellent area for nature reserves, cycling, walking, boating or catch a train into Amsterdam from the town station.
Very friendly owner who speaks English and will supply you with a cycling map of the area. We arrived at 11am and had no problems gaining access but office closed 12 - 14. 00 for lunch.
All in all a smashing site and one we would use again if in the area.

We stayed 2 nights in late May using ACSI making this very good value. The couple were very helpful. The facilities were clean & modern. The site is at the edge of woodland with areas of about 12 or so in each - grass pitches. Some basic hardstandings for motorhomes. It was a lovely quiet site with lots of birdsong. The peace & quiet suited us. Lots of walks in the woods. We hired their bikes & cycled to the Nature Reserve/visitor center & also into Lelystad to see boats & shop @ supermarket.

Lelystad is one of the new towns the Dutch have built as they have drained and reclaimed land in recent years. So it doesn't have the quaint old fashioned charm of the older and well known tourist towns, but it does have this smart little camp site in a nature reserve, a few kilometres outside the town centre. A local man warned us to beware of other sites closer to the town, but this one is good. It is beside the sailing school at the edge of the lake, with a big range of wind surfing, boating, fishing and swimming possible. The facilities are all new and in tip top condition. Away from the lake shore is a huge nature reserve with all manner of bird and animal life - you can walk for miles.
Lelystad has one big attraction - the traditional boatyard where they have built a replica of one of their 16th Century East India merchant ships, and are constructing another. But after that you should drive across the huge dam across the old Zuider Zee (about 10 miles I think) to have a look at the open air museum at Enkhuisen on the other side - where they have rebuilt traditional houses from all over Holland, and have live demonstrations of all their old crafts. Your children can dress up in clogs and Dutch costume, but we made a bee line for the man selling hot kippers smoked over oak chips smouldering in an barrel
Back to the camp site - mostly local Dutch people from close by, very welcoming and friendly, and no other English in sight. We rate this little site as one of our real finds.
