What a hidden gem of a campsite. Far enough from the main road not to hear much trafic noise but with the added bonus of the West Somerset Railway steam trains passing by only a few yards away.
A basic facility site, standpipe for fresh water and a chemical disposal point complete with dedicated tap. Many bins for recycling and rubish disposal.
Another bonus is the old mineral railway line track bed which runs past the campsite all the way into Watchet. About a 20 min walk into Watchet one way or Washford in the opposite direction.
Many shops in Watchet but for the nearest supermarket head to Minehead for Tesco, Morrisons or Aldi. Catch the bus from the car park next to Watchet railway station (it's a half hourly service) to the railway station at Minehead and walk down the footpath behind the station.

Excellent location. Large open field.
Lovely family running the farm.
Only short walk to the town which has loads of great inns and places to eating.
Steam train on your door stop too.
Go here most years and will continue every year.
Cheap site at only £9 a night

The site consists of a field and is very quiet and relaxing.
There is no EHU but there was a toilet in a shed and water a short distance from the field.
We walked into Honiton but it was about 30mins down a very steep hill which we then had to walk back up again.
There are no footpaths so it may not be something you want to do.
Ideal stop over location for the South West.

A lovely small out of the way idyllic and peaceful site will definitely recommend this place.
The facilities are adequate nearby water. Standpipes and Waste disposal places.
There is no electric hookup but this is explained on the UKCampsite website
Very good for social distancing.

This is a really good site. No power and just a CDP and water, plenty of space, tranquil and perfect for getting to know North Somerset. The west Somerset Railway runs past the site and so seeing old steam and diesel trains going by is a bonus. There are foot paths nearby and you can walk to Watchet.
The lane from the main road to the site (which can be missed) is quite bumpy, but at a slow speed does not cause a problem.
The only slightly negative for this site is the CDP. Basically a sewer manhole with a removable steel cover. Would be nice to have a cover with an old WC on and a cistern to make this aspect less challenging
We will be back to this site
