We initially booked 4 nights at this site & specified clearly at the time of booking the size of our tent (LOARGE) and the fact we would be arriving with a car. I was quite specific in all communications with the campsite that had a large tent. So lo & behold, we arrived after a long sweaty journey from Milan to be given our pitch and what a surprise, it was too small! Back I trapsed to reception to be told that I could choose any pitch that didn't have a sign on but they're all roughly the same size.
When I say too small, I mean we could either pitch the tent without the porch OR we could park our car. But certainly not both. We laid the footprint out to see what we could do & realised that whilst we could just about get the tent up there was literally no more space. We could only guy out about 4 lines, couldn't use the side doors of the tent, and had to be very careful getting in/out. We could only sit in the tent or at the back of it, which was underneath a static caravan's toilet!
To say I was cross was an understatement. But the site staff couldn't have cared less.
After a very difficult & stressful pitch, we parked our car in the overflow carpark, visited the on site restaurant, and what an experience that was.
Only one waiter and the entire outside seating area seemed to be filled with tables of people waiting for something. Everyone trying to get his attention. Dirty and uncleared tables, people waiting for food, more people queuing to pay their bills. The guy was rushed off his feet so unsurprisingly he was not too impressed when we turned up looking for a table of 5! It took a very long time before we were even acknowledged. But finally he showed us to a table and gave us our menus. Whilst there I took my son to the toilet, which is where I presume the bad things go to die, as the smell was literally taking our breathe away!
In fairness, the food was very good, but it was expensive, and only a very basic Italian menu offering the usual pizza & pasta.
Back to the campsite. The toilet & shower facilities were average at best. The woman in the on-site shop should be wearing a balaclava, as it's clearly daylight robbery.
The pool area was lovely, and there was a small kid's park which was okay to kill 20 mins.
The location was okay. It's not easy to find as the turn off isn't very well signed, but if you're heading on the road towards Pisa and you come to an underground tunnel, you've got too far. It's on the left, before the tunnel.
You had to walk about 20 minutes through said very dodgy traffic tunnel to get to the centre of Pisa & the tower.
In the end, we left a day early as we just couldn't handle the tiny pitch size.
I wouldn't stay here again. In fact, I wouldn't stay in Pisa. I'd stay in either Lucca or Florence and day-trip to Pisa as they are all close together.
Both Florence and Lucca are worth a trip, both beautiful.

Site is within easy walking of Pisa, Leaning Tower and Station all around 10mins away. The site itself is easily assessed from road, overall the site is quite spacious for Italy the only point to note in summer pitches are covered by netting which includes the use of steel support poles at the corners of each pitch which can make access a little awkward. Pitches were rutted and muddy when we visited, toilets/showers were good quality and clean. The site has a restaurant, bar and swimming pool and the staff very pleasant.
Train takes around 45 mins to Lucca note tickets at the nearby station can only be bought from machines taking cards or cash (limited note denominations) The Leaning Tower is accessed on a timed ticket we had no problem in early June buying or selecting a time even though the area was very busy with tourists. Pisa itself is pleasant enough with plenty of food outlets, there is a lot of tourist tatt around the area of the Duomo and Tower. We thought the tower worth the visit its bigger and leans more than you might think.

Great site within walking distance of the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
Nice flat site with good facilities. Pitches allocated with your name on if you booked.
We stayed over Easter so it was quite busy but not too noisy.
Staff were lovely and if you stay at another site you can pick up a voucher for savings on your stay.
Only downside is if your book online you can only book and pay a deposit for 3 nights. Which if you leave early you still have to pay. If you turn up you can stay for single nights. I booked from the uk as it was easter and it made our stay expensive for one night.
Pisa itself if a beautiful city and the complex round the Tower is stunning. It is full of people but then its a wonder of the world. There is a good supermarket on the walk back from the Tower etc.

Large campsite with small pitches, no room for an awning if you wanted your car on the pitch.
There is artificial shade created with large green sheets tied overhead from poles.
Toilet block was excellent, clean and large.
Swimming pool - not that big bearing in mind the size of the site and you need to wear a swim cap (on sale for 2. 50 euros each so buy in the UK if you can).
Evening entertainment for small children.
Obviously the main advantage is the close proximity to the Leaning Tower of Pisa - walk out of the site to the left - through the tunnel and you reach the souvenir stalls (extremely cheap which was quite surprising 1 euro for a Pisa tower key ring etc), walk passed the stalls and you are there - takes about 10 minutes.
Recommend for sight seeing, but not for a relaxing holiday, we had initially booked 6 nights but from reading other reviews reduced this to 3 nights and this was plenty.

Stayed for three nights to see Pisa, Lucca and drive up to Cinque Terre ( parking a nightmare so wouldn't recommend so take the train or stay up there).
Great access to Pisa and restaurants etc. As the previous reviewer stated, Lucca is beautiful and a must to visit whilst in the area. In summer they have outdoor concets with big name artists but timing wrong for us.
The pitches are under cover offering some shade in the sun and heat. We had a large caravan and the pitch size was fine, although no awning which would have been tight. Pitches are mainly sandy with some grass due to the usage and little rain.
Toilet and shower facilities modern and clean. 16 amp electricity. Wifi available. Restaurant and bar on site with entertainment some evenings. Outdoor pool. Popular with families.

It's busy, crowded and quite expensive - but what else do you expect of a site which only is 10/15 minutes walk from the leaning tower itself? So it's very popular, but people come and go and we've always found a place by arriving early in the day. The site is well equipped, with all the facilities you'd expect of a big international camp, though the sheer number of visitors can make it look a bit careworn in parts.
The leaning tower is just stunning - we burst into laughter at its sheer ridiculousness - but once you've seen that, and been into the cathedral (dress properly or they'll turn you away), we were disappointed with the rest of Pisa city. But a few miles up the road is Lucca - what a delightful place that is. You must go to Lucca. Does anyone know a good camp site there?
