Visited Chessons Farm for the weekend. Unfortunately I got stuck in the mud in my camper van on Friday, but the farmer/owner came to the rescue and towed me with his tractor. Chessons is a working farm, situated a few mins walk from Bewl water. The view from the site is breathtaking. Fresh drinking water available. And a chemical toilet emptying point. We had ehu. And the cost is £12 per night. Stunning location, very peaceful

Lovely setting, clean, tidy, well looked after and very quiet. The farm is great, plenty of sheep and the apple orchard is beautiful. Bought the best apple juice from them! The owners are very friendly and helpful. Lovely walks around the farm, especially going down to the reservoir. Spotted deers, pheasants, rabbits, a falcon and plenty of other birds. The nearby village of Wadhurst (5/10 min drive) has local shops, pubs, a couple of restaurants and mini markets. The children didn't want to leave! Will definitely return.

This campsite is set on a working farm in the beautiful East Sussex countryside two mile from Wadhurst.
The Touring site suits 5 touring caravans/motorhomes, and overlooks Bewl water and surrounding countryside.
We have been caravaning here for many a year and love it. It's a real escape and peace and quiet is guaranteed.
Facilities are basic, there is no toilet or shower block and the toilet disposal is a ground soak away.
There is mains water and recycling available, the most recent addition is the electic hook up which has been added this month!
Although the field is relatively flat, wheel chocks are advisable to ensure a level van.
There are several walks from the campsite down to bewl water which is about a 10 minute walk, there is a lovely bird hide which over looks the nature reserve, perfect for ornithogists, or a circluar which walks a stretch of bewl and back to the campsite. (Approx 45mins) for the more advanced hiker you can walk the 14 miles round water walk!
Fly fishing is extremely popular on Bewl and day tickets can be purchased either online or from the main entrance which is a 15minute drive from the campsite. Rod licences are a must.
The Campsite is ideally situated for exploring East Sussex,
Bedgebury Pinetum and forest is a 10 min drive, great for cyclists, Go Ape, and kids play areas,
Pashley Manor gardens, National Trust properties, Castles, Railways, Royal Tunbridge Wells, to name just a few all just a short drive from the campsite.
On a Friday night the mobile Fish and chip van stops at the top of the lane, there are a couple of Indian Restruants in the village and two village pubs.
For everyday amienties Wadhurst hosts a co-op, onestop, hardware store, Butchers, Greengrocers, and other small shops.
This really is tranquil setting and if you love peace and quite you won't be disappointed !
