This should be a great site but I'm afraid that the owners let it down. It also trades as Heathside lodges.
The site is a mix of wooden lodges (booked direst or through hoseasons etc), glancing pods and touring pitches. We arrived on bank holiday Monday to a view of overflowing bins which stayed that way until Wednesday, which wasn't the best start. We were with two other groups that at various points in our stay consisted of 7 adults and five children (aged 6, 4 and 3) over three touring pitches and one glampng pod.
There is a small field between the touring pitches and the lodges. We were twice told off by the owner for having the kids playing outside our pitches and for us sitting in a sunny spot in the field area. They only want children to play down in the playing field, which they have planted a hedge to hide the site of, and want to prevent the lowly touring pitches coming too close to the lodges. This quite frankly annoyed us, I've never been to a site that has stopped children playing outside the tents and to give the impression that he didn't want the lowly campers disturbing the lodges (who seemed to be the ones generating the noise) is insulting. I will not be returning and would not advice anyone with children who they are not happy to play out of site visits either.
N. B in case the owners respond saying the rules are laid out on the information sheet were given when booking in. For the third time we were never given one.
On other notes, there is one shower in the ladies, one in the gents and a unisex one in the disabled. The one in the disabled is the only one where you can alter the temperature the others run too hot for children. We only had to wait once for the showers but the site was nowhere near at capacity. There was no step stools or anything similar for smaller children to reach the dunks and it took at least three days for the bin in the ladies to be emptied during our stay.

This is our 3rd year on this site - we always stay the middle of July as soon as our local schools have broken up. Pices are very reasonable and are all inclusive. There is free wifi and all pitches have water and drainage at no extra cost. The price is the same all year round so you know exactly how you stand. We love the site as it is peaceful and uncrowded - a great sense of space with the bottom field dedicated to play with a climbing frame/slide. There were even some cones this year which could be used for rounders bases and a goal net. And adjoining field is home to 3 donkeys whihch are lovely for children to visit. There is a large log cablin style facilities block which houses a 'Mace' store selling lots of essentials and newspapers etc, toilets and showers - 2 male, 2 female and a large shower in each. These are always spotlessly clean. There is also a separate disabled toilet/shower room. There is a separate washing up cabin which is undercover if the weather is inclimate. There is a lake and nature area at the bottom of the site which is nice to walk to. Local places of interest within easy reach are the lovely and quirky Southwold, the town of Beccles with the quay, shops and pubs and Aldburgh with a good selection of shops and fresh fish stalls. We have always found the staff to be friendly and helpful at the site and thoroughly recommend it. We will be back next year!

Arrived at site on time, but had to wait for an hour or more for the pitch to be vacated, we could have been put on another clear pitch but was told they are reserved (there still was 4 empty pitches when we left). The campsite is situated in a very good place for all around sightseeing, Halesworth has a large Co-op, good Chinese take outs lovely village. The site is on a slight slope leading to a field (all carefully marked out with low bushes) the field has a large play area enough for children to play, this lead on to a very nice wildlife walk carefully marked out, really lovely. There are Donkeys in the adjoining field which if the wind is in the right direction can be heard. The facilities are newish, with female toilets having 2 basins, 2 toilets and 1 shower, men's having 1 basins, 1 urinal, 1 toilet and 1 shower, the disabled toilet is 1 room with toilet, basin and 2 adjoining showers, very big room, campers were allowed to use this if showers & toilets were full. The waste disposal point was very high to empty into, (if you were not the strongest person you would struggle). Washing up facilities were newish as well having 2 sinks, there was 3 bowls and some washing liquid with cloths, if you have forgotten them, it was very dark and only had a sensor light which came on a night. Did not use the washing/drying machines so can't comment. On site Village shop, not pricy. Could benefit for another male toilet (husband had to wait half an hour for a toilet) not enough toilets on site. The toilets as a whole were dirty and not cleaned during our stay, (5 nights), this we felt let the site down in a big way. Would benefit from more toilets and washing facilities
