I can't praise this pretty little CL enough, such a glorious location within two minutes walk of the Llangollen canal.
Glorious garden setting with flat immaculately cut lawns, fully serviced pitches, Free WiFi.
Lovely warm welcome from the owners.
Already planning our next visit, it's so good my wife was reluctant for me to let anybody else know about this hidden gem.
Just wished we had booked longer.

Really pleasant site - nice and level.
Very warm welcome and introduction to the site and facilities.
Next to the canal for dog walking. The pitch had its own drinking water tap.

We stayed at this CL mainly to visit relatives in nearby Crewe but after extensive research looking for a suitable campsite this one came up trumps, not only for being attractive but also competitive with other sites in the surrounding area. Entrance to the campsite has easy access with pitch numbers and surnames pinned on the gate so visitors can pitch without the need of visiting the site owners at ‘Swanley House’ which is beneficial when the site owners are absent. General waste bins and recycling facilities are immediately adjacent to the house behind a small gate where the chemical disposal point is also located at ground level by means of a removable drain cover plus a water tap and hose pipe are provided to enable flushing out the waste tank. The site provides just grass pitches only (no hard standings) which are extremely well spaced and even though the site was closing for the end of season, the grass was mown and kept short by the site owner which is evidence that they take pride in keeping this delightful location in wonderful condition. As the pitches are located on the opposite side of the field to the entrance gate, it helps to keep traffic noise to a minimum and although the lane is not really busy it is occupied mainly by occasional passing of agricultural vehicles. The only minor complaint is that there is a small tree with over hanging branches (about 4 ft. High) directly above the fresh water point which means that you have to duck right down low each and every time to fill the water barrels (which may well be trimmed before the start of the next season) but apart from that we couldn’t fault it and wouldn’t hesitate to return again in the future.

Entrance to the site is a little tight but led on to a very large well maintained lawn area the pitches are well spaced apart(the site is much larger than a typical CL site).
Large pond in the middle of the lawn which was nice perhaps care should be taken with children. No toilet block as advertised but EHU. The elsan point was near the information point which was in plastic boxes (maybe these needed moving elsewhere) although this is a small criticism. Staff were very friendly and accommodating in allowing a later leaving time. Good walks along the Llangollen canal we didn't notice public transport within walking distance so cannot comment.
Nantwich is a short drive away which boasts good shops/facilities slightly further afield is historic Chester and Chester oaks designer outlet(worth a visit) no dog walk on site but with the canal path 200yrds away not needed.
We would definitely visit again

We visited this site on the 20/4/2012 after our intended destination cancelled due to a waterlogged site and what a revelation. With a very large well maintained field, the site was fantastic with views to die for. It was located close to the Llangollen canal (200 yds) there is a large unfenced pond with individual coloured lighting (at least 2 dozen) The services were excellent with plenty of running water, v. Good elson point and waste water point although no toilet or shower facilities, but who needs them it's a CL. We were pitched on the hard standing at the end of the drive with a temporary hook up.
1.25 miles from the pub (20 minute stroll) 0.5miles from a local convenience store along the towpath and 2+ miles from the ancient town of Nantwich also accessible via the towpath. There is public transport to Chester or Nantwich every 30 minutes from Acton village 1 mile away (park your car there. ) The owners were very helpful and friendly.
Site fees were £13 inc E. H. You we will definitely visit again.

We stayed at this site in June 2011 and what a pretty well maintained site in a nice quiet location.
Well kept lawned area with pond.
Owners very friendly and accommodating.
Easy access to the pretty town of Nantwich with its shops and timber buildings and good access to Chester and the North Wales route to the coast.
Close to the canal with beautiful walking potential. Will return.
Please note no toilet block. Although there were Elsan points and hook ups.
Owners have leaflets with places of interest to visit.
