Liked closeness to sea but that came with strong winds.
Relaxed site 25min walk to Edam a quaint town.
Facilities clean and excellent -
Site has mostly statics which are killing the touring pitches and campsite atmosphere -
Would probably not go again but we seldom do.

Me and my girlfriend recently stayed here on a cycle trip around Holland. We stayed here for the one night. We had a great spot which right by the waters edge. The staff in the restaurant were lovely. The reception staff were also very helpful. The good thing about this campsite was that there was no 'kick out time' the morning of the next day so we had time to properly explore Edam. The showers were tokens. We had a portable sink which we heated water for, so not sure about washing up facilities. If you want to order fresh bread you must do it the day before. If you forget they usually have some extras in reception or alternatively there are plenty of nice bakeries in Edam. Although we do not have children, this site looked very child friendly. One thing to note is that this campsite is not dog friendly. There are lots of nice places to eat in Edam and some very interesting buildings. We went to a bike shop for a repair on one of our bikes, the service we received was second to none and really puts our bike shops in the UK to shame.

We stayed 2 nights in late May when 'Kings Birthday celebrations' were occurring throughout the country. So everywhere very lively that day. Owner very helpful. The facilities were clean & well looked after. All grass pitches. Some statics separate from camping field. Washing up facilities & washing machine etc. Bike Hire. Restaurant/café on site. Walk/cycle to supermarket in Edam which we did on hire bikes. Also cycled into Volerdam. Childrens play area. Excellent value if using ACSI out of season. No Dogs allowed.

Site is just on the edge of the town of Edam - approx 10 minutes bike ride to town centre. Site is on the edge of the lake and some pitches are within feet of the waters edge. Lots of seasonal caravans on site but plenty of space for tourers.
There are 2 showers blocks - both very clean, you buy tokens for showers from a machine outside reception - €2 for 3 tokens which is approx 8 minutes. You also have to pay for hot water to wash up 0.20 cents.
The site has 2 restaurants - one is a bar that also does a good selection of snacks, toasties and full meals, it has a beautiful 180 degree view of the lake ad plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The second restaurant we didn't use but seemed busy so assume also very good.
No shop on site but plenty in town - the supermarket was great but they only take cash of credit cards - they do not accept debit cards. In town plenty of pavement cafes and tourist shops, a couple of lovely cheese shops and on the square is a tasting shop for cheese. There are several canals crossing the town and the buildings are mainly 1680's so its very pretty and well worth a walk around.
This is a great area to visit and the site is good value for money.
One last thing to note - site does not allow dogs.
