Great site, food at the restaurant was nothing short of amazing, and a discount 😎 so basically your first night stay is free!
Small cafe open from 8-4 on certain days, serving lovely bagels, sausage rolls, drinks etc. Just a note, cafe is card only. Owners are so welcoming.
No shower or toilet, but very nice toilets available in the pub.
Small site, close to a busy(ish) road with a church across the road.
The bells on a sunny Sunday morning were an absolute delight to hear 😊
Many thanks for a wonderful stay

My husband and I and our two hounds stayed for 3 nights in our Motorhome in September 2023.
The site is basic which was exactly what we wanted. By this I mean no club house, pool or play areas. So probably wouldn’t suit most families.
The site has grassed and some hard standings pitches. Electric hook up and water points. Grey waste and eslan waste too.
It does slope down to the dog exercise field and can be a little hard to get level.
The dog area is fenced in and you can let your dogs off lead, which is great. It’s not huge but does the job.
The pub serves basket meals Friday and Saturday nights and their Sunday lunches are something else. It was a lovely basic pub Sunday lunch.
The landlady and staff made us feel very welcome and couldn’t be more helpful with our dogs and my blindness.
Would I stay again? In a word yes, even if it’s just so we can have the Sunday lunch!
Thank you for a lovely friendly stay.

We stay just for 1 night (18th march) as our friends were trying out their new motor home.
Each pitch had electric, water and hard standing.
The field was on a bit off a slop so was a bit tricky to park as ground was a bit soft.
Unfortunately the pub as not servicing food on a Saturday evening. Just open for drinks. Landlady was very welcoming and beer was very nice.

Pitch on a slight slope, so wedges are recommended.
Water, power, & grey drainage at each pitch.
You will need a hose to reach the drain, alternately use a bucket.
Top of the field is an area for chemical toilet waste.
The Landlady is full of personality.
She will leave the pub outer door open, if you ask her, so you can use the toilets.
No showers.
Food of a high standard, see their Facebook page for further information.

I was lucky & had the field to myself.
Had to use ramps to combat the slope.
Water, drain & electric on each pitch. Spoilt! 😉
Next to busy road but lovely views.
Village worth exploring.
Did not use pub, but its in an interesting old building and the buildings behind were part of a brewery.
Great place to watch a sunset too.

Field was well kept and gate was secured, so no concerns about leaving van to go off on bus. Bus stop just outside going to either Swindon or Chippenham.
Each pitch had electric hookup and water tap. Wedges were needed as field was slightly sloping.
Although on main road the traffic noise wasn't too intrusive and virtually non existent after about 8. 30 pm.
The pub serves a fantastic Sunday roast and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
All in all a nice little site for a couple of nights.
Would definitely go again.

5 van site situated in the grounds of the "The Duke" public house in the village of Hilmarton. The site is ideally situated on the Main A3102, the site is accessed through the carpark and then through the gate into the field; I was towing a 8ft wide twin axle and access was very easy.
The bus stops outside the site and that can take you to the small town of Calne or larger town of Chippenham, or go the other way to Royal Wootton Bassett and Swindon, the buses run every 20mins offering a really good service.
The pub serves Sunday lunch, but be warned the pub was only open Friday Evening Saturday Evening then Sunday Lunch till closing ( this may be a seasonal thing?)
There is a Tesco with a petrol station in Calne which is approx 2 miles down the A3102, this can be reached by bus for those who are in motor homes; just turn right out of the site or get on the bus at the bus stop across the road.
You will need to use your own sanitation because the toilets on site are only available when the Pub is open.
I was the only person on the site during my weekend stay but I felt very secure and safe. This site is ideally placed for those of you who want to explore Wiltshire and surrounding areas. Both Chippenham and Swindon have main line train stations so places to visit are endless
The staff / owner was very welcoming when I went to pay for my pitch and invited me to go over for a drink and also told me about the Sunday lunch and that I could book a table if I wanted.
If you fancy Fish & Chips I would highly recommend Ed's Fish Bar, 5 William St, Calne SN11 9BB (you will need transport to get to it) and it is open lunch time and Evening everyday except Sunday. If you want something delivered there is Dominos Pizza in Calne and there is an Indian takeaway and restaurant in nearby Lyneham.
There is a Village church just across the road and to be honest I only heard it dong maybe twice so it definitely didn't disturb my sleep, the road is quite busy but again it didn't disturb me at all.
TV reception was very good and so was my phone signal and internet.
It rained constantly through Friday night and most of Saturday and I was expecting the field to get boggy but it drained well and I didn't have any difficulty leaving on Sunday.
I scored this site 8/10 only because I thought it was overpriced at £20pn but I would stay here again.

Nice clean site, very peaceful, although the road does run at the side of the site this wasn't a problem.
Good central location for sightseeing.
Booking was very easy, good communication with owner.
The pub was closed while we were there due to Christmas but the owner had told me that before I booked it wasn't a problem for us.

Where do I start. In the club handbook it states a ph and restaurant and hard standing. On arrival I find the ph closed and by the look of it it has been closed for some time. No one lives there so no one on site
As for hard pitches forget it
I was booked for three nights. But I stayed just for one
I'm sorry to say I would not go back.

Arrived, after nearly missing the Duke, as it was on top of a hill on your right just as you come into the village (coming from Lyneham direction) got a very pleasant greeting from the lady behind the bar and told to take my pick of the pitches. Connected to the electric found pitch level and firm, the rest as the field is grass and it was a bit slippy under the tyres of the car, but still easy to get around. With plenty of space between pitches. The Landlord came out and welcomed me and told me the door to the front portch of the pub would be left unlocked at night so that we could use the toilet if needed. He also told me of his plans to lay a firm track to each of the pitches, and that he planned to convert the small outbuilding into a shower and toilet block
My only disappointment was that the traffic noise and the church clock chiming the hours throughout the night. But saying that you soon get use to it and it wasn't a problem. Great Pub and will definitely return
