We wanted to visit spurn point on our east coast adventure and most of the other sites were full but found a spot here after stopping to get a 'fresh crab' as advertised outside. We were thankfull of a pitch/space but only stayed the one night.
Tucked in away from the elements between a caravan and shed was great as the wind got up and gave us shelter as its quite exposed but the shed must have been where they process the crabs? a little smelly to say the least and josh the eldest thought he saw a rat ! but we were out in the evening at the local pub which was only a few hundred yards away and we all enjoyed our evening meal there.
The area is remote and nothing to do for the kids but we found a little cafe the next day which sold ice cream for the kids and we visited spurn peninsula which was the purpose of the trip.
All in all a nice remote place for the wildlife and big on birding by all accounts, would I go again. Yes, but not to this site.

Just returned from The Old Boat House site on the banks of the Humber estuary near Spurn Head.
Although basic(the owners still working to improve it) the site has good hard standing and grassed areas although I would suggest taking substantial pegs if you have a tent or awning. The owners who live on site were very helpful and friendly and were always on the go with their fresh crab business. There is a pub 2 mins walk away which serves decent meals. There are a number of walks direct from the site taking in views of the estuary and the North Sea (great for the dog). Perhaps not ideal for kids it never the less is a tranquil peaceful site which was exactly what we were looking for.

Stayed 2 days here as a Starter to our first time as Caravanners, The owners were absolutely lovely did everything we asked and more.
The views of the Humber are breath taking and ideal for fishing and if you like fresh crabs Daz will sort you out as he prepares them daily and they reasonably priced. There is a pub just a stone throw away and Kilnsea beach about 2mins in car or 10-15mins walk away with toilets.
The facilities on site are basic with one shower and toilet but as there are only 5 pitches it was not a problem, definitely recommend and will be returning.

We have just returned from our first visit to The Old Boat House, but I assure readers, it wont be our last! Even on a bank holiday weekend, we found peace and quiet!
As previous person said, all the surrounding amenities are there. Apart from the fresh crabs available on site, you could buy your salad to go with it just along the road. They grow all home-grown with honesty boxes.
What a treat to re-live the past, as this is a corner of Britain that hasn't changed in years. Still untouched by modern buildings, and so-called Progress.
The site owner and his wife are really accommodating to ensure his visitors enjoy their stay. Nothing is too much trouble for them.
Its clean, well situated, with everything you need, although basic, We cant wait to return.

The main man is always buzzing, the main lady catering for all the people who love fresh crab! Down to earth site with relaxing, panoramic views. Child friendly. 'Garden of Eden' with great views and a warm welcome always.
Our children love the beach (on the door-step) and the surrounding walks. Local ice-cream and cafe, easy reach of holiday park with substantial children's play area,
Pub and food within staggering distance, north facing beach, Spurn Head and Lifeboat station close at hand.
Close vicinity to Museum at Paull, the Bunker at Hopton. Lovely fish & chips at Withernsea!
Just a beautiful, relaxing stay guaranteed. The Hobbs family
