We were given a friendly welcome from the English speaking Dutch owner, with lots of information about the site and the pitches (there are 3 sizes - standard, Large and XL).
He recommended pitches to have a look at, based on our requirements and availability, but we were then able to have a wander round and choose our own pitch.
ACSI is accepted but there is a 1 or 2 euro supplement for the L or XL pitches. Although mostly touring pitches, there are also some mobile homes and safari-tents, mainly separate from the tourer areas.
We were surprised at how busy the site was, but still had a good choice of pitches and it was calm and quiet day and night. There are plenty of trees on and around the pitches, providing vital shade, but less good if you are under them during a storm (especially oak trees laden with acorns!).
The pitches were inevitably generally quite bare and earthy towards the end of the season, but there were plenty of grassy areas around the site. The pitches had a 10 amp electricity supply, water points were around the site and the shower and toilet facilities were modern and clean.
There was a large swimming pool with plenty of loungers around it and a little shop, bar and restaurant. You could order bread etc for collection the next morning, but the bread (and cakes!) from the boulangerie as you reach Beynac via the path direct from the campsite (10-15 mins walk) is FAR superior. We combined our morning dog-walk with picking up our breakfast "tradition".
The situation of the site is excellent - just outside Beynac but within easy walking distance - and a short drive to many of the attractions of the area. We were very comfortable on this site and would happily return.

Just returned from two weeks at this amazing campsite. Very friendly and informative welcome on arrival, we were given lots of literature on things to do and see in the area.
Our pitch was very generous in size, next to the corn fields, with a great view of Beynac Chateaux, although some of the pitches did seem to be quite dark and shady. Maybe better for people taking pets.
Toilets, showers, dishwashing area etc was spotlessly clean at all times.
The pool area was lovely, with plenty of sun loungers.
The on-site bar/restaurant was really nice and also offered vegetarian and vegan options, which was a real bonus for us as everywhere was fois gras! It was reasonably priced too.
The site is perfectly placed for all the beautiful towns and villages in the area. A good many with in a 10/15 minute drive away. Beynac is an easy 15 min walk via the path from the campsite.
All in all, I highly recommend this site; it Is laid back and has a friendly atmosphere. The french/Dutch owners are lovely, lovely people who work very hard to keep everything running smoothly and efficiently. For us, there was nothing not to like at this campsite!

Lovely site, lovely owners, lovely area
I stayed for a week but wish I could have stayed much longer. It was so relaxing and convenient for places of interest. A great site for all ages. Very well run, extremely clean. Great pool area. A short walk to the nearest shop and village. I will be back next year.

We stayed here for 4 nights. We would recommend choosing your own pitch as there are 3 different categories some would have been quite awkward if you had wanted to put up an awning. Some pitches had views of the castle (which was within walking distance along the footpath at the back of the site).
The campsite was quiet at night but there was occasional rail traffic during the day. The toilet block was modern and well maintained. Showers were preset - we prefer those with adjustable temperatures. There was a god sized swimming pool that was well used.
The campsite was fair but the whole layout of the roads and pitches really needed a rethink to make them more customer friendly

Good value @ 14 euros per night using ACSI card. We had pitch with view of castle. At the time of our visit we chose our own pitch & went to reception in the evening. The site is in woodland with sun & shade. Facilities were kept clean with plenty of hot water. Outside pool was good. Some statics. Easy walk/cycle to shop & Castle up steep hill-worth it for views. Next day visited Chateau Milandes & Domme. A very relaxing site. Lots of places within easy driving distance.

A nice site with a lovely view of Beynac château from a number of the pitches. Good welcome and the pitches were fine. An easy walk into Beynac and up to the château however there is not much other than that there. There are places to eat however if the price of the coffees is a guide it may not be budget. Sarlat and this area of the Dordogne is a lovely area to explore and we would go back.

Stayed there in August for 11 nights. The site is quite big and very busy in high season. It is Dutch-owned and the majority of the campers were Dutch, which is fine. No problems with English-speaking. Pitches were well-maintained and spacious, plenty of opportunities for e. G. Hanging washing lines, spreading your equipment. We were pitched directly opposite another occupied pitch so if it's a bit more privacy you want then maybe this isnt the best site.
Plenty of fresh water points and waste storage.
Good laundry facilities, albeit quite expensive. Given it was high season I got in there early morning, otherwise found washing machines constantly used.
Washrooms and showers kept clean and regularly cleaned; hot water for showers always; clean toilets, however the site didn't supply paper, but it was sold at the shop. We couldn't really understand this, but we always bring our own anyway!
The site shop had basic supplies and you could also order rolls and bread for breakfast, which is a nice touch. Bar reasonable, also offering hot meals on an evening and pizzas & fries to takeaway, all delicious and well-priced.
Staff generally helpful with minority of exceptions, where we felt there was some grudge and grumbling with service requests e. G. Givjng change for the washing machine when there was plenty of change available.
Lots of children's activities every day, which the children seemed to love.
Nearby is Beynac, about 10 minutes' walk. Full services available there, very busy in the summer time. Pizzeria near to the local mini-market very nice. A couple of nice coffee bars and restaurants by the river. Bakery, post office. Castelnaud near to the village (in addition to Chateau Beynac) is also worth visiting. Steep climb up small hills for both, but worth it.

We chose this campsite because it was recommended on here, and we wanted somewhere not too far from Sarlat.
The site is well signposted from the main road, just 1 minute away, past an old station, over the railway bridge and there you are.
The pitches are flat and grassy, and mostly divided by hedges. There are a few mobile homes at the far end of the site.
As we arrived, the reception was closed, a message said to choose a pitch and come back later. The warden turned up from doing a job on the site and told us to come back at 6.0 pm. He was very friendly and spoke good english.
There is an outdoor pool on the site, but it was closed when we were there, the owners were getting it ready for the season. The large adjacent facilities were also closed, though some toilets were opened after more people arrived. The other facility block was heated and unisex, there was just 1 shower in there plus 2 toilets and enclosed basins, washing up sinks and washer. We had to wait for the shower sometimes, but it wasn't really a problem as the site was quiet.
The shop and cafe bar were closed too, but we tend not to use these much, and there were plenty in the nearby village.
As well as the pool there is crazy golf, a children's play area, a TV/youth room (which was also closed).
The best thing about the site was the view up to the chateau at Beynac, it was stunning, and made even more so when hot air balloons took off in the evenings. There is a marked footpath through the site and adjacent woodlands, past a fishing pond, then on the lanes into the village of Beynac, it took us about 10 mins by bike, but parts were a bit rough. It's a steep climb to the chateau, but worth it for the view from the top.
The roads behind the site are good for cycling, and it's possible to cycle along the river from the village too. The activities of the Dordogne region are on the doorstep, also the popular market town of Sarlat.
We liked this site so much we stayed for a couple more days.
The price was moderate, but as there were very limited facilities open, I thought it might have been cheaper.
