This site is now called CampO Village, we stayed here for one night following the overnight crossing to Caen, due to its proximity to the autoroute.
Believing that reception didn't open until 4. 00pm. We wereted some time sitting on busy, hot aires so as not to arrive too early. When we did arrive, still early, the office was open and we were admitted straight away. There was a large, shaded car park just outside the site gates which would have been a more pleasant place to wait had we needed to.
The site was quiet and there were only a few units there. Pitches vary in size and outlook, most seemed level. We were given a choice of pitches.
The sanitary block was divided into male and female sections, but having seen the multiple chemical closet emptying points I thought that that must be the male section. Wrong!
The block was very clean, but the bare concrete floor made it appear unfinished. The showers were good.
There was a small snack bar which we didn't use because we were tired.
Reception (very friendly and some English spoken) stocks a range of local wines and craft beers (which we did sample!).
There is an Intermarche close to the site, which you pass on the way in. Convenient if you need to purchase supplies or fuel.
We would definitely stay here again if convenient, and maybe stop longer to explore Vierzon.

Very relaxed and helpful reception late evening- we could pitch our tent wherever we wanted, the owner then organised a pizza delivery which we welcomed after a long day.
A café/bar in a pleasant covered area overlooking the River Cher formed the setting for both supper and breakfast.
The well stocked bar and new shower/toilet facilities show the investment made by the new owners in the last 12 months.
This site was a perfect overnight stop half way down France or would make a nice destination to explore the area.
The owners are really friendly and accommodating - we will definitely stop here again!

Site is on the south side of the Creuse; Route Bellon is a long suburban street off the ring road that strings between the A20 and the A71.
In late Sept half of the site was roped off; the rest was a bit tired. The snackbar had been shut a fortnight. The toilet block was clean, but rusted. Pitches were flat, hedged and shaded by mature trees. Grass was rare, and the soil was powdery alluvium. Water and electric to each pitch.
Reception was polite and efficient, but in an office behind a small glass hatch; that's where the management stayed. There were few occupants of the site.

Advantage is proximity to the autoroute and site is suitable for an overnight stop. It's a municipal site that felt like a long way out of town and requires you to follow a lot of signs to reach the destination. That said, it's very good value (8 euros for 2 persons + tent) and clean and tidy.
When you get there, the location is actually surprisingly good, down a small lane leading to a riverside site with good views of the river if you want to pitch on the open grassy site set aside for tents. Real attraction of the site was a totally unexpected riverside bar/restaurant with deck overlooking the river. Restaurant was busy and taking bookings from locals so the clientele is clearly not restricted to campsite users only. Menu was quite varied and good VFM.
Washing facilities are a little bit tired, ie basic and consistent with municipal status but the showers were powerful and hot. There is a big Intermarche supermarket 5 mins' drive away so supplies are easily available.
Wouldn't plan to stay more than a day or two but for an overnight stop, I was pleasantly surprised.

We stopped here as we were looking for somewhere for the night, and I had made a note that there was a municipal at Vierzon. As we came off the motorway, we followed the campsite signs to here, but it seemed to be a long way from the town.
The site is situated slightly raised up from a river valley, surrounded by woodland, lots of birds here, very peaceful and shady. The pitches were flat and grassy and divided by hedges.
When we arrived, the young lady receptionist, who spoke a bit of English, took our details, then suggested a section of the site and asked us to choose a pitch as she waited.
The site was empty at this point, except for a tent further away. Having written down the pitch number, she asked us to return at 6 to pay. When we did so, there was a bit of confusion, but apparently they had only opened the previous day and were training new staff. As we paid, we asked to change pitches as there was dog dirt nearby.
There are 2 facility blocks, the one we used had separate facilities for men and women, and a room for washing up. Outside was a fenced play area with a good selection of activities, and at the far end an open grassy area.
There is a building for group activities and a TV room/office. On the river side of the site is a cafe/bar, plus locked gates onto the river valley, maybe they open them in the summer for visitors to come and go, other people were bathing in the river when we were there.
We didn't visit the town, nor do any shopping or eating out. We did cycle out of the gates along a perimeter path and along the riverside, lots of people here walking dogs.
It did say that reception was open until 8.30pm, but the staff were there much later, and people were streaming in long after dark.
The price was cheap, and this is the sort of site it might be worth staying an extra night to have a better look at the area.
