Go for the view of the South Downs! It's a lovely campsite, reasonably large, and easy to get to by car or bicycle. But the light is amazing on the Downs and it's a great view to wake up to.
There's nearby traffic noise on the surprisingly-busy B-road; however this isn't really a problem because is dies down by the evening.
Facilities are excellent: bright lighting, clean and modern loo, and an excellent, powerful and hot shower! Full credit to Tom who manages the site for having decent facilities there.
In summary I'll recommend the campsite without hesitation.
Thanks, Tom

I have stayed here twice now.
Facilities are basic but fully adequate for a comfortable stay.
Beautiful location and peaceful. The owner and his father are charming people and most helpful. For just £7 a night it is cheap at half the price.
For someone who just wants peace and quiet, a beautiful setting it is perfect.
Best kept secret in Sussex and well recommended for individuals and families alike.

My boyfriend and I booked a very last-minute trip to Lodge Farm campsite over August bank holiday weekend. We wanted somewhere near the South Downs and this was the only campsite to have space remaining at short notice.
The campsite was very easy to get to. We caught the train from London Bridge to Hassocks and then the campsite was a short walk (~20 minutes).
The rain on Saturday morning must have put people off because there was only us and one other tent there. Even with the maximum of five tents there would’ve been plenty of room though. The site has wonderful views and the surface is flat.
The facilities are fairly basic but perfectly adequate. There is one small building split into two, one with a nice hot electric shower and one with a toilet and sink complete with hand towel, handwash and mirror. There was no toilet roll though so be sure to take your own!
The South Downs are lovely for walking. We didn’t have time to do everything we wanted so we will be going back again. The trails are well maintained and clearly signposted although we did find ourselves in a field full of bulls at one point so be careful! The local pub is the Greyhound about 10 minutes walk away. They do good beer and good food and they have a dart board and a large beer garden.
The campsite was £7 per person per night, so £28 for us in total. Well worth it.

WOW - the hottest weekend of the year so far and we were fortunate enough to spend it in this wonderful little gem of a camp site nestling behind the South Downs.
Superb views and beautiful sunsets. So peaceful and quiet. A true retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Basic facilities kept very clean and lovely hot shower! Short car journey into Hassocks for essentials.
Owners made us feel very welcome - we are trying to find another free weekend in our diary to go back very soon! Thank you.

We have stayed at Lodge Farm twice and loved it. Yes it is a small campsite and yes it only has one toilet and one shower but it is a small site
It is in a lovely location on The South Downs, the toilet and shower are spotless, lots of hot water in the shower. Tom the owner is a true gent and the views are wonderful.
You do have to drive to a pub but the nearest one The Greyhound does lovely food. Plus it's only 30 mins from Brighton.
It maintains a lovely laidback atmosphere and we would all stay there again.

What a brilliant little campsite. The owners are friendly and helpful. There is one electric power shower (and never a lack of hot water) and one toilet but as there are only 5 tent sites the facilities are more than enough.
There is enough parking for everyone and it is in easy reach of Brighton.
An unassuming campsite for those that enjoy peace and quiet and are not looking for a holiday camp. Easy to find and beautiful views.
The campsite is in a good location for those cycling or walking the South Downs path or for those who just want to get away from the bustle of city life
A gem!

This site is a field with a few hard standings and a stunning view of the South Downs. There is apparently an electric hook up facility but we didn't see it.
There is one 'outside toilet' which is reminiscent of the 1920's. There was no toilet paper, only cold water and no towel or dryer. Cleanliness was poor. There is one 'outside shower' with an electric shower unit.
There are no other on-site facilities. The site is about 1 mile from the village of Keymer which has numerous pubs, shops etc.
We paid £14 per night for two adults - too much for the primitive facilities.
