Please note we have been advised that the campsite at this location has closed, and no longer offers camping, motorhome or caravanning pitches. The pub itself is still open. If you know that this situation has changed in the future, please could you let us know. Many thanks

A great little place, owners and staff go way out of their way to be helpful. On our visit they refrigerated our food, sold us bacon on the last day and looked after our dog for us when we went out for our pre-booked meal. H
aving said that it is certainly worth a mention that the camping is situated on the site of a cracking pub. If we'd have known this we wouldn't have bothered prebooking a meal elsewhere as the pub serves up some fantastic food along with breakfast at the weekends (a superb breakfast menu, worth looking at their website just for a good read if nothing else).
I've given 10 out of 10 on everything except for the facilities, there isn't a shower block and the toilets do close between 2am and 6am - personally I didn't even notice as I'm sure 99% of people wouldn't. On the positive side there is a great pub with everything you'd ever need even including a fridge it would seem!
The area itself is also really good, especially for walks, anything from flat walks around a reservoir to the full might of the Peaks. The two nearest towns are very quaint and we found an amazing little coffee shop in Holmfirth next door to Barclays.
Thank you the Travellers Rest and Meltham for a great long weekend, now if you could just do something about the weather!

Thought I would try this campsite even though there's very little information. I arrived at the pub and couldn't see any sign of a campsite so went inside to ask about it.
The chap behind the bar was helpful, the campsite is a rough piece of land next to the pub car park. I was told the site is new therefore there are no facilities.
The pub is open till 2AM and I could use the pub toilets, the pub didn't open until noon the next day (but they could probably open early for me).
The site was sheltered with houses on one side and the pub on the other, no open views. This would be a good site if you wanted to spend a weekend at a pub.
