Just spent five nights at this lovely small site. Water, electric hookup and toilet available. What else do you need. Site has beautiful views across the Wolds. A variety of good places to eat nearby and good walks for the dogs. Easy ride into Malton a good place to shop and browse and for the trains to York and Leeds. Had the site to ourselves, lovely and peaceful. Owners very friendly and helpful. Would certainly come back again.

We spent the bank holiday weekend at Aldmoor Farm on our first caravan trip after upgrading from a tent.
The site is small and quiet and the views are fantastic. The owners are very helpful and friendly and made us feel very welcome.
The only down side is a lack of shower.
There are several pubs in the villages nearby; we chose the Jolly Farmers in Leavening which served great food and good ales - a proper pub.
Aldmoor Farm is a hidden gem and I would definitely recommend.

We stayed for a quiet and peaceful week at Aldmoor Farm with the place to ourselves. We had the choice of where to pitch and decided to go at the top of the site with its great views over the surrounding countryside.
We didn't need levelling chocks and were right next to the electric hook up. The toilet emptying point is easy to find and is straightforward to use, no fiddling about with awkward covers and spraying taps.
There is a single toilet available for the camping field. To add to the other reviewers comments about approach with a caravan or motorhome don't go via Buttercrambe as there is a width restriction, however the road North just East of Stamford Bridge is wide and easy.
The nearby town of Malton has everything you could need while away from home and is typical of many North Yorkshire market towns with their independent traders. A very pleasant place to stay.

We chose this campsite on the spur of the moment, only intending to stay for a day or two. But we were so impressed with everything about the site that we stayed for two weeks.
The owners gave us a warm welcome and showed us where everything is: The loo is at the rear of the main farmhouse building, has hot and cold water to the sink and is kept nice and clean.
The camping field has a water point and three multi-socket hook-up points so you can take your pick of where to pitch. The previous poster mentioned the grass; it's more like a thick green carpet. It is cut regularly and is the most lush grass we've come across on a campsite. Yes the field does slope slightly but is nice and level at the far end where the views across the open fields to Burythorpe church and across the Wolds are stunning, as are the sunsets and star-filled night skies. Further on, past the camping field, is an uncut pasture of clover and grass; ideal for walking the dog.
Aldmoor is not a working farm so you don't get any of the nasty niffs you usually associate with farm sites. However, they do keep a few hens so eggs are available at the farmhouse (and they are lovely). Another bonus is the peace and quiet: Being well away from any main route, there is no road noise save for the occassional tractor.
TV and satelite signals are excellent as is mobile phone and mobile broadband reception.
The site is only four miles from Malton where you'll find a Morrison's supermarket, Sainsbury's Local, Lidl, an excellent Main St. Of shops and a regular farmers market in the square.
Local attractions include Sledmere House and Gardens, Castle Howard, Kirkham Priory and York with all that city has to offer and much, much more.
It's a great place to tour from, walk from, cycle from or to simply be a couch potato.
Now we've found Aldmoor, we'll certainly be back.

Lovely helpful couple who own site, We were met at the gate and showed the way, and pointed out all facilities.
Field has a slight gradient but lovely thick grass, views over the countryside are stunning,
Great little hideaway site, peaceful, clean toilet, fresh water, ideal base for visiting York or Scarborough,
Word of warning -- do not follow sat nav, go into Malton first, as roads from Kirkham Abbey are narrow (also a nice place to see)
Can't really comment on children as we didn't have any with us ,but it was well off the road so they would be very safe
We will definitely be going there again, well worth site fee
