Cracking site in a beautiful setting. Owner is an extremely helpful and pleasant guy. Only one shower but for a 5 van site it's fine and it's spotless. Next door to Crich Tramway Museum which is well worth a visit. I'll definitely be back.

Stayed 4 nights and would use site again. Owner made us very welcome and put van on pitch as some are tricky. The site has quite a slope so you need the right gear to level your van or motorhome. Although there is only one shower/toilet on site this should not be too much of an issue due to size of the site. People need to be aware that the roads up to Crich need a great deal of care as they are tight and beny in places. Great views, great walking country. Both the Black Swan and The Cliff pubs are excellent. The owner will make you very welcome and is very helpful.

Found this site when searching for a location near Regal Furnishings in Ilkeston where we were having our upholstery refurbished. Turned out to be next door to a Tramway Museum and a great Real Ale Pub with great pub food including local sausages and homemade pies. Campsite is best identified on Google Earth and for caravans some of the access routes could be challenging. Facilities are excellent with a great amenity block. One dedicated hard stand for motorhomes and a sloping site for caravans - but views are great and the owner makes you really welcome and provides lots of local knowledge. We will find some excuse to visit the site again in the future

Just had a 3 night stay here to see the new year in and even though the weather was abysmal me and my wife loved it.
The owner is first class a proud man and helpful by pitching my van using his 4x4 as the site is sloping and my old motor would of struggled, so you will need some extra wooden blocks under your front legs, the site being only small has the 1 shower and toilet which we never had to wait for and is clean and heated.
The views from the site are fantastic and I can only imagine on a crisp and clear day they are even more out of this world than on a rainy day and even more so from the Crich memorial to the Sherwood foresters.
The surrounding area of Crich is a cracking village and the Black Swan on new years eve was brilliant night but all around the other town's of Matlock, Bakewell and Chesterfield are good trips out but most importantly Crich has its own tramway museum (not open whilst we were their) but the site is good as next door and on previous visits to the museum is a good day out for all ages. Should also mention that the electric is by coin meter and we used 6 pounds which we thought was very reasonable as we had the fridge, tv, chargers and the heating on low through the night.
All that said we will be re-visiting in the near future as it is one gem of a site and to good to pass.

Owner was nice and friendly, he pointed us to a pitch up near the top of his site as it had good views and a flat spot for our camper van. He was right, it did have a great view. The site itself is sloping, so levelling blocks needed. Also, the ehu is quite far from some of the pitches, so you may need a longer lead. Our standard one only just reached. The electric is on a £1 coin meter, but we picked one with credit left on it and didn't have to put any money in it. The toilet/shower was awesome and very clean. Overall, you can tell the owner takes pride in his site and its well looked after. It's literally next door to Crichton Tramway Museum, so perfect for visiting there.

We visited in our motothome, arriving in the dark and missed the site. Although it has a large sign outside, it was impossible to see from the direction we approached in the dark. We rang the owner and he gave us directions back from where we were and told us which pitch to take. We didn't completely understand where pitch 5 was and tried to go right to the top of the site, only to find we were wrong and, as the grass was wet, had considerable trouble trying to get to the correct pitch. Fortunately, some other campers gave us a push and also lent us a longer electric cable as we didn't have a long enough one, being new to this game! We liked the location and the toilet and shower, which are the best we have seen on any campsite anywhere! We would have preferred there to be another toilet, as with the only one being in the shower unit, it can be out of action for some time. That aside we found this a very pleasant campsite, with a friendly owner.

This site is very well located for the Tramway Museum, Crich Stand and Crich village itself. The village has a very good butchers, small general store and an award winning bakery and cafe. It also has several pubs, doing reasonable food, and a newly opened Indian Restaurant.
It is sloping grass, so larger motorhomes will struggle except on the bottom two pitches. The owner has recently installed electricity meters, which although reasonably priced, are quite inconvenient, as you have to put more in than you perhaps need, just to be on the safe side, or risk nipping out in your pyjamas, as I had to!
The facilities are spotless, and the owner friendly, but with the addition of the electricity meters it is quite expensive for what it is. The location in the village, and near the tramway museum is the site's strong point, also being in the Peak District there are numerous walks directly from the site.
Can get snowed in in winter, although it is open all year.

Amazing views as you are so high up, but remember as this is Derbyshire - if it turns wet and/or windy, it may be quite bleak.
Site is on a considerable slope and pretty cosy. As its on all grass (apart from one hardstanding pitch next to shower/toilet at bottom of field), pitching a caravan on such a slope requires a 4x4 and ramps/blocks. But owner happy to help outfits struggling by using his own 4x4 to locate the caravans. Motorhomes may find all but the bottom pitches a struggle.
Grass was perfectly manicured and well drained.
Shower and toilet were immaculate - clean enough to eat off.
Visit their website to see a webcam and you can book online.
Right next door to the Tramway Museum, which can be noisy when special events are on.
Cliff Inn few minutes walk away was great for good, cheap traditional meals (such as liver and onions, pies and chips) - good sized portions and real ales.
Owner very accommodating and welcoming.
Will definitely return!
