Just had a wonderful weekend at Fountain house. Met by the owner on arrival and given directions as to how to pitch. They have gone to additional trouble to facilitate camping during the current pandemic.
We didn't need toilet / shower facilities as had them on board. He had toilets on site with numbers so I'm guessing they were allocated to tent campers.
Superb bike ride on saturday. Explored his wooded area sunday before going to a nearby nature reserve, which was unfortunately closed, but still managed a nice walk.

Lovely site with a fantastic nature trail That more than make up for the basic facilities We received a lovely warm welcome from the owner who let us stay at very short notice,
The Field is quite level with plenty of room. Toilets are in a portacabin one for ladies and one for the men both kept clean and tidy, with a information hut and a lovely playground for the kids to play on.
Some traffic noise from the A164 but not too bad.

Lovely site with basic facilities but the animals and nature trail more than make up for this.
Had a lovely warm welcome from the owner. Field was very muddy though due to torrential rain over the Easter weekend. Toilets in a portacabin one for ladies and one for the men both kept clean and tidy, an information hut and a lovely playground for the kids to play on. Some traffic noise from the road running along side the site, this will probably decrease in Late Spring/ Summer has the trees get there leaves.
We loved the nature trail and enjoyed walking around it. It was great seeing all the new born lambs, just keep your dog on its lead.

We decided on a last minute camping trip and what a Fantastic campsite. A lovely setting with a great nature trail for summer evenings. Don't let the lack of showers put you off, this is a great back to basics campsite, with clean loos. Friendly owner and a great range of animals, very friendly sheep, well kept chickens and the best looking ducks we've ever seen.
Will call back again as its ideal for a last minute get away. Easy to find and a very nice drive along the A166 to get there from York.

We stayed here for a weekend but unfortunately we had a very cold, wet weekend which put a bit of a dampner on our visit.
There were 3 touring caravans in our party and other than 1 other tourer we were the only ones on site. The owner came to show us to our pitches and told us the rules!
Our children enjoyed the park area and the nature walk round the pond, the rain didn't seem to bother them too much.
No showers but the toilets were clean and plenty of hot water for a good wash.
Overall a lovely quiet, little site.
