Please note, this site no longer has touring pitches for caravans and motorhomes, and no longer accepts tents. It has accommodation for hire only now
If you know that this situation has changed in the future, please could you let us know. Many thanks

We arrived about 5pm to be treated by unhappy reception staff even though we spoke French.
Insisted all members of the party were marched into the office for a yellow arm band that had to be worn.
Camp site is very muddy, thank goodness it wasn't raining. Make sure you have a large mat and good ground sheets if using a tent.
Units well sited in groups in circle sharing tap and power between two.
No lights so make sure you take a torch.
Quiet site.
Toilet ok, but puddle outside suspect.
Other toilet block not inspected.
Showers dirty, and you have to step over cables strewn across the floor.
Bins very smelly located near units and no recycling.
Fixed caravans / units look nice.
Pool very small, must have been a wide angle lens.
1 star site, ok if no where else available.

Nimes is well worth seeing - the Roman arena, the equally old Maison Carre, and the modern Norman Foster library and Arts centre opposite (do go for lunch at the top floor restaurant), and then a walk around the fountains and up into the parkland.
This big busy municipal site is a perfectly good base for a few days to explore all that. Motor home owners particularly like it because there's a bus into town from the camp site gates. It's a well equipped site with respectable showers and facilities - a bit worn and weary, but quite OK. There's a bar + restaurant and free wi-fi, though you may have to get close in range to get a decent signal. It's not a site for a full fortnight's holiday, but if you are touring in the area and want to include the city as well as the Pont du Gard and Uzes then it's a good base for four or five days. It's about 3 miles out of town, south of the ring road, well signposted and not cursed with traffic noise.
