This is a little 'back to basics' gem. £8 pppn and you do NOT have to eat or drink in the pub, but you will be missing a treat if you don't! Quiet little site with a tap and toilet.
Close to the pub (literally 2 minutes walk). Don't expect the facilities you'd find in £30 + sites, but expect a warm welcome, fantastic food and beer from the on site brewery.
The site welcomes dogs, as does the pub. Just keep them on a lead and clean up after them.
I couldn't score on a personal level on Child Friendliness as I was alone, but those who had children said they were enjoying themselves.
Just give it a try, have a beer and a meal, then have a lovely, tranquil chill out. Maybe have a stroll around the corner next day to view the beautiful scenery.
I will be back often!

Great little campsite. We booked without realising caravans aren't allowed out of respect for the club site in the same village. As we had booked we were allowed to stay.
Beautiful little spot and the beers in the pub are brewed on site and really are excellent.
Will use again but will bring the tent next time.

My son and I stayed Friday night, we were looking for somewhere reasonably close to Dalby Forest to go mountain biking the next day.
The camping field is a very short stroll from the pub. It has a portakabin style toilet block which was clean, if staying for longer then the lack of showers might be an issue (hence 8/10 rating for facilities). The field has plenty of space.
The pub sells a great many of the brewery's beers and I liked all three I tried. We enjoyed a very good quality, reasonably priced evening meal. All the staff were friendly, from phoning up to book the site to serving in the pub.
If in the area again we'd certainly go back.

This is a lovely little site with very basic facilities, surrounded by pretty walks. It's cheap at £5 per person per night.
The site is owned by the New Inn pub, just a few metres away, which serves lovely homely food (big portions) and delicious real ale. Staff in the pub are really friendly.
You can do tours of the brewery if you book in advance. My husband and I did this back in February and would recommend it. Not sure what the standard price is but we got a deal on one of the discount websites for £29 for tour, 2 course lunch, a pint each and a gift pack of beers. It was really good value. We didn't stay overnight that time.
This time we camped on the Saturday night and ate Sunday lunch in the pub before we left. As it was the England-Italy World Cup game and the pub was showing the game there was a very noisy group of blokes in the campsite who kept us (and everybody else) awake for most of the night. Just bad luck though - it was otherwise a very peaceful site.
One of the previous reviews says you can have fires, and some of our friends had been here last year and said the pub actually sold them firewood, but we took a load of wood with us and were told we weren't allowed fires. It was disappointing as sitting around a fire is one of my favourite things about camping, but at least we could head into the pub when it got cold.
Would recommend if you like proper camping with minimal facilities. Although the pub is child friendly, the campsite is probably not ideal for families with young kids as there are no showers etc. We would go back but I wouldn't stay for more than a night or two since you can't have fires, as we'd end up in the pub every night, and I prefer being outdoors if possible.

Tidy sheltered site. Back to basics. Toilets in a ports cabin and a water tap. Sites level and sheltered. Very quiet.
Pub literally 50m away. Serves great local (as in brewery next door) ales and lager. Food is reasonable to. We ate in on a busy Saturday night and had Sunday dinner as part of brewery tour.
Bridal path and footpaths straight out of site for walking and biking.
Will go back, would go back a lot more if had a shower for when returning from plentiful walks and bike rides.

We've found another little gem. A peaceful, sheltered site within stumbling distance of the New Inn. The facilities are basic. There are no showers. The loos are in a porta cabin type building.
The site is gated and the ground is level, no hard standing, beautiful grass field with a few picnic tables and places to have a fire and barbecue.
The pub serves great real ale and decent cider. We didn't eat there but the food they served looked yummy.
There is plenty to do in the area, lots of walking in wonderful part of the country.
At £5 per person per night a bargain, we will definitely return. A tip if you're in a tent, make sure you bring your mallet!

This was the first time we had stayed at this site. We found it on a return from Rosedale a few weeks ago. We have been to the pub before but were not aware of the campsite.
The field is quite good and had no problems levelling the van. Facilities are basic with a tap for fresh water and 2 portable toilet units which were clean with plenty of toilet paper and hand towels.
The pub is really nice with good real ale brewed at the brewery behind some are very strong. Good job the site is close to the pub.
There are some great walks around the area with Cropton Forest in walking distance.
Did not eat at the pub but did last time menu looked good.
Plan to return sooner rather than later
