A lovely welcome from the very friendly owner. Site unfortunately a bit close to M62 so rather noisy.
One toilet with cold water only at the wash basin, but for £15 / night inc EHU, it was good value. Rawcliffe village is around a mile walk, however only one pub open which didn't do food. The pizza shop was good though.
Was told off for leaving late on the Sunday, though we were off site by 14:00.
Doubt we would return.

Me & my wife just come back off a two night stay here. Very quiet site. Ideal for relaxing &chilling out.
Margaret&John make you most welcome. Margarets home made farm jam is a must. It's lovely.
We will definitely be going back soon. Looking forward to it. Many thanks John & Margaret.
From Alan&lesley. See you soon.

The wife I stayed here with our canine companion for a weekend in February.
The things we were looking for in a site was a reasonable price, mains hook up, a toilet and some good walks nearby. This site ticked all the boxes.
It is a basic farm type site so don’t expect any frills or a hardstanding.
The location is about a 25minute walk from Rawcliffe which is a nice place with a few takeaways and some nice pubs, in particular a real ale pub called the Rose and Crown. The site owner will provide you a map with a choice of heritage walks although we made our own walk as we were geocaching.
The site owner is a really friendly lady who will help in any way she can. The site has EHU, CDP and a traditional outside toilet with cold feed basin. The site was soft in parts when we visited but this is to be expected in winter after non stop rain and I would imagine when we revisit in the summer it won’t be an issue.
The cost was £13 per night which is really good value for a site with electric and WC.
As a basic site and considering the cost its a 10/10.

Management response: Very pleased that you enjoyed the stay and we look forward to welcoming you back now that things are slowly opening up.
We now have added a hard standing pitch with electricity that was proving popular for motorhomes and winter visits. |

We were part of a group, caravan, tents and motorhome. We were made very welcome. There was a friendly greeting on our arrival, we were shown to our pitches and where the facilities were.
Access is good. There is electric hook-ups available. The toilet block is bit basic - just one toilet, and the water tap is not easy to get to for a motorhome, you would need a long hose.
There are pleasant walks direct from the site and our host gave us some laminated local walks which were very useful. She advised us about the local take-aways (the Chinese was good) and pubs.
We had dogs with us and they were made welcome and there is plenty of space to exercise them off the pitch area. The pitch area is quite small but perfectly adequate for us.

Management response: Following the excellent reviews posted we have now installed a brand new wash basin to the toilet facilities. We hope that this will make stays more enjoyable and thank the reviewers for this catch. We are always looking for ways to improve the quality of each stay. |

A tidy little orchard campsite with 5 hook ups and a toilet but no handbasin. The very friendly owners will lend campers a laminated pack of Heritage Walks round the area, one of which passes the entrance of the site and takes in the Sugar Mill Ponds nature reserve. Also on this route are a few pubs, including the Black Horse at Rawcliffe Bridge, a pub with good food and a pleasant canalside garden. Home made jam can be bought, made from the fruit from the campsites own produce. Most of the campsite is taken up by caravan storage. This is next to the camping area which is only big enough for around 5 units. The only downside to this site is the close proximity to the M62 but the sound being constant you do actually get used to it, and the site is screened by hedges and trees which give good shelter from the wind.
