Great location, up in the mountains with a lovely view of Interlaken and the Lakes.
The pitch was good, dirt base which made setting up easy, and less moisture getting under the tent.
Facilities were decent, nothing special but did the job!

We have just returned from a 8 night stop at this incredible campsite, the toilet block is super modern and spotless in every way, the whole site is kept spotless, staff very friendly, the position of the camp is superb, views all around are stunning, we had a large lakeside pitch worth every penny, Brienze is about 20 mins stroll around the lake, no need to walk along road there is a pathway from camp to the town, if you want to be right in the thick of the alpine resorts and the lakes this is the place for sure, Switzerland is expensive but that's just how it is, we can only say camping arregg is faultless go there and be impressed.

What a find. Positioned neatly at the end of Lake Brienz we pre-booked and chose our pitch before arriving. As it happens it was perfect having fresh and grey water waste plus electricity and a view over the lake (Pitch 70). The booking in process is straightforward and professional and the staff are multi lingual and very helpful giving information on the local attractions. Whilst our pitch was perhaps less than average in size, we don't use an awaning so there was room for the car alongside otherwise it would have been tight. But for us the view more than made up for it.
Being August, the site was certainly full at the front where we were but everyone was enjoying themselves and and there was an air of calm throughout. The toilets and showers are extraordinary. Modern, large, accommodating, fresh, clean and very useable. Never seen anything quite like it and perfect for tenters and units with minimal facilities. Infact, so much money had been thrown at these I was wishing perhaps a little more had been spent instead on the quality of the pitches themselves.
On our part, hard standing had clearly been laid down some years back since when it had grown over and with recent rain had turned to slush added to which the adjacent grass was waterlogged. Given the immaculate nature of much of the site, this seemed an area needing urgent attention. But that's me just being picky.
Position wise, this site is great. We traveled to Italy and Lake Maggiore with our car on a train from Kanderstegg through the mountains to Istelle. Fantastic and also spent a day driving up and down some great passes near by - particularly the Furka Pass once used in the filming of Goldfinger but fortunately with a little more protection on the hair pin corners! We also took the train to Interlaken and paddle steamer back to Brienz-brilliant. Plus the cog railway from Brienz to Rotthorn for breakfast 2500m up with picture perfect views back down. There are so many other places to visit like the Jungfrau or Piz Gloria and as with so much of Switzerland - you simply need deep pockets! But for us, they were all worth every penny. Just make sure you have plenty of memory for your camera!
This campsite is exceptional in what it offers with a perfect position, some great play facilities and zip wire for the kids, direct access to the lake if you have a boat or canoe, floating slide and bouncy things for swimmers all underlined by a view that leaves you gasping. The owners are friendly and helpful and the whole site is kept in good order. There is a small shop, a bar and also a restaurant and there are more of the same in Brienz, a 10 minute walk away.
Highly recommended

It is hard to believe that this site has not been reviewed before, unless others have kept it a secret to have it to themselves!
Right from the initial email contact the staff have been excellent, friendly, professional and helpful, you can choose your own pitch when booking if its available (No34 was our choice right on the lakeside with fantastic views, quite a distance from the facilities and play areas. But that's how we like it). Our dog loved the lake but wasn’t too sure about the swan family that came by each evening to see if there was any food going spare.
The toilet block incorporates everything you could want including a boot wash sink/dog shower and Fish cleaning sink! Always spotlessly, clean and heated, only very slight negative, push button showers.
Play area looked well equipped and again very clean. We didn't utilise the restaurant/pizza takeaway but our German neighbour said food was good with large portions. WiFi access is available. The site got quite busy at the weekend but not noisy and a good atmosphere.
Nearby Brienz has all the shopping requirements most would need with large Co-Op (takes credit cards unlike most Lidl/Aldi's) as well as good tourist shops and the other essentials. Brienz is about 10 miles from Interlaken but the views and more relaxed pace suited us perfectly. It also has fantastic travel links via Train/Post Buses and boat to all the busier places. The best site/location we have stayed at, the views took our breath away and were sad to leave.
We would recommend to anyone who likes the slightly slower more peaceful way of life with access to the tourist areas at your doorstep.
