Stayed here to visit parkrun in Ilford.
The bad - Site is behind the pub car park. This causes issues with pub customers parking close to or across the entrance. When we arrived I had to unhitch the van and carefully maneuver through the gates using the motor mover.
The next afternoon we returned from a trip out and a different car was blocking the gates so couldn't get car back on site. This could easily be cured with a sign and some strategically placed bollards. Gates were damaged and tricky to open & close.
Single EHU point with many outlets so you may need a VERY long cable depending on where you were pitched. Manager fortunately had a spare as even with a 25m AND a 15m cable of my own I couldn't reach the hook up.
CD point was an ordinary toilet behind the pipe. Hose for swilling didn't work (had to fill using cassette cap).
Noise from the M11/M25 is constant but admittedly low key. Being close to the pub there is also some noise from the garden but this was to be expected at a pub site.
The good - pub is excellent. Very friendly and great food.
No pitches as such but space was huge for a small site. Largely surrounded by trees & bushes so had a country side feel.
20 mins walk to Epping Tube station and St Paul's 40 mins away.
Chap we dealt with was friendly and helpful but his life would be easier with a few simple improvements.
Given location £19. 50 a night with EHU was very reasonable.

Very friendly pub landlord and great veggie burger meal prepared for us even though they're closed Monday nights!
Easy access for a caravan via Epping from the M25.
Good security from double high gates and coded pedestrian access.
Well signed local footpaths for dog walking.
However, field is very rough and waterlogged this time of year, so could only use hardstanding near the entrance.
Road noise from M25 and M11 is significant.

This is an excellent CL/CS site. Very clean and secure. 10 minute cycle ride to Epping Station for trips to London.
It is ideally suited for exploring the area (which is very rural considering how near it is to London. We had some lovely bike rides).
We didn't eat at the pub but we had a warm welcome from them. The pub is clearly popular with families with a bouncy castle when we visited.
There is some background motorway noise but you hardly hear it when inside the van. The rates are very reasonable.
All in all one of the best CL/CS sites we've stayed in for a long time. I highly recommend it.

Lovely site, friendly people. Woman that ran it came out no problem when we arrived later.
Facilities very clean.
2 car boot sales down the road which were fun and close to Epping Forest where we had a fabulous bike ride on the Sunday

I could in all honesty not recommend this site. We had booked in advance for two nights but although having a large empty field, we ended up in the middle of the car park of this noisy, busy pub.
There is water and use of the pub toilet.
We were quoted £7. 50 per person a night which was fine but then they tried to charge an extra £5 a night for electric which was not mentioned at time of booking.
