The location - great for exploring north east cornwall, also the countryside was beautiful.
The nice staff in reception, they organised for my son to join his sister on a pony ride around the farm when there was no space left.
The children loved their pony rides! The staff on the farm where great with them.
Flat pitches, really easy to pitch in.
The fact that it was so in the country side, and thus animals all around, including lots of horses - the children loved that!
Non-push button, lovely showers - so much better not having to keep pushing a button all the time - & lovely and warm!
Disliked: The showers/ loos really weren't enough for the whole camp - 3 loos & 2 showers isn't quite enough. Unforntunately as they are also used for the riding school, whilst lovely & clean once they had been cleaned, they became quite dirty during the day, perhaps need cleaning more than once a day? The shower cubicles were also on the small side, with some of the paint pealing off on the floor wall, not really good for showering young children with you. Ours only had 1 shower in 4 days due to this.
The washing machine cost £5, which is quite expensive.
It does state no play equipment when booking, so we didn't expect any, but had there been the children would have been a bit more occupied, as it was unfortunately as there isn't really a space away from the road (although a 5mph speed limit is strictly enforced) and the tents that they could really play in - which we found really stressful & couldn't really relax. Such a shame.

First time on this site and were only there for a few days which was a shame as it is lovely! It was very quiet when we stayed as it was the end of the school holidays so we were lucky with the showers. Facilities were great. Nice and clean and looking new. Everyone very helpful and friendly. Situation is good. Short car trip to main shops and beach in the other direction. We absolutely love trebarwith strand, it's dog friendly and has a great pub, beach shops and snacks. The tide does come in very quickly but we go up to the pub for food and sit outside to watch the mesmerising waves - fantastic. Definitely be on our list for future holidays.

We chose this site and didn't really know what it would be like. We have a son with special needs who loves animals and he was in heaven! What a jewel.
The site was quiet and everyone and I mean everyone was friendly - the campers who have vans permanently on site who gave local knowledge on where to go and the owner who ran the riding school was more than happy to fit our son in for a lesson.
The toilet block is basic but clean there are no disabled or baby changing facilities. There is a lake in the middle which was home to some geese and babies which is fenced off.
The site is close to Port Issac, padstow (use the park and ride and walk in padstow is very busy). Palzeath is nice if the sun is out parking is a little pricey but the car park on the hill is good you can watch the surfing and take a picnic. Boscastle is pretty drive through and on the way out over the hill there is a cracking farmshop called Bostcastle cafe and farmshop for some lovely cheese and a cuppa.
So if lots of noise, club room and play parks is your idea of heaven this is not for you, if you like a lovely quiet site with lovely genuine people then this is heaven. Also children using imaginations and running around instead of playgrounds where quite frankly we find really stressful constantly having to tell our son to be gentle he can be himself here,

Situated in a quiet, picturesque valley this site offers a well kept, recently refurbished toilet block with free showers and wash up sinks and coin operated laundry facilities. There is also a small tea room serving possibly the best cream teas in the area. Very secure and safe for children but play facilities limited to a large grassed area for ball games etc. Excellent horse riding facilities as the site is linked to a very well run equestrian centre offering seriously good tuition at all levels. Leisure centre with sports facilities and swimming pool within walking distance. The site is well placed for those that enjoy surfing with good beaches within easy reach. As with all grassed sites prolonged rain is not ideal but the area is very quick to dry out once the weather improves. I have used this site for many years and have every intention of continuing to do so.

We selected this site as a base for three nights whilst touring the south-west. It is reached down a track involving much opening and closing of gates.
The site has a bit of a slope and we were right at the bottom of the field where it was very boggy on our arrival. The previous week had seen some torrential rain and it was raining again when we arrived to pitch (we'd driven through much worse conditions about an hour earlier). This also meant that we were furthest from the toilet block so it was a bit of a trek in the middle of the night.
The toilet block was OK considering - it was often wet and muddy but then so was the campsite. I got talking to some other guests who were in an old-fashioned tent (no bathtub groundsheet!) and had endured a steady stream of water through their tent a few days earlier.
I personally didn't find it the most attractive of sites - all a bit open and with wind turbines nearby, and I wouldn't rate it very highly for children in general (ie. unless pony-mad).
On the positive side, the owners were obliging, and will re-freeze your ice-packs for free and they have a tea room.
If you are into horse-riding then you will easily overlook any other drawbacks in the light of the equine facilities, which appeared (to a non-expert) to be exceptionally good. I'm not sure exactly what the site offers in the way of equine facilities but I think you might be able to stable your own pony or purchase riding experiences.
I doubt if I would return again myself but I can see why others would place it top of their list of preferred sites.

We went there in Aug 2007. And it was so nice we are returning this year with Guests! The pitches are a lovely size, Shower facilities were always clean and tidy. A few bugs in the morning but hey what do you expect in the middle of the countryside. There are no parks or games rooms.Thank the bloody lord! Fantastic for your children to enjoy nature and use a little imagination! There is lots to explore and animals to see. Maureen and her husband make you feel more than welcome, and her tea room is lovely. Last year was such a wash out for us, but it was that nice and we enjoyed it that much we are going back in a couple of weeks for a 2 week holiday. I have recommended it to our friends and I would recommend it to you. If you want a break and to get away from it all then this is the place to go.

This site for us was disappointing. The pitches are close together, the toilet/shower blocks are not kept clean (my 8 year old wouldn't shower because of all the bugs) and the grounds are not well tended to. There were only two showers but they were free and the water was hot. We were allocated a pitch and when I asked if we could change pitches I was greeted with a very unhelpful response. There are no facilities for children to play on and they tended to congregate around the toilet block (not the best place). The equestrian centre attached is very good and the best riding school I have attended with regards to punctuality. The surrounding area is lovely. We visited the Conservative Club in Camelford (upon recommendation from a lady at the Co-Op) for a meal and it was excellent value for money with very good service, a varied menu and lots to choose from.

Stayed here for two nights so my daughter could have a horse riding lesson. The site is small so you feel cramped - two nights were fine. The showers are ok - there's no play area and not much grass to play on but it is in a rural setting so plenty of chance to hear owls and see the stars at night which is great. The shop sells quite a few things and the owners are nice. The horse riding was very professional and it cost £17 for half an hour. It is definitely horsey so my husband who is allergic to horse hair was affected as the facilities are up towards the stables.

We are surprised that nobody has reviewed this site. It is set in a valley well away from roads, you have to travel down a 500m track to find it !. The site is set in an Equestrian centre . So if you dont like horses its not for you. It has about 40 pitches for caravans and tents which are of good size and the majority have EHU. There is only one shower block which has two shower cubicles in each of ladies and gents. The showers are always hot and are free electric power showers ! The shower block on the whole was clean and tidy. The only down side was the hot water to the basins and crock washing was always tepid at best. The owners are very cheerful people who give you no hassle, its a quiet site with no bar/club there is lots of room for children to run around and play. There is a lake in the middle of the field but its fenced and gated but you can go in and sit around the edge in the gardens. The shop provides basics and also cream teas (yum yum). The pitch prices are very reasonable. The site is 3 minutes by car to Camelford and 5 minutes from Tintagel. The nearest main road is the A39 (Atlantic highway) so the rest of Cornwall is very accesable. And of course you can always learn to ride or go on a hack. The children enjoyed the animals of which there are quite a few on the farm besides the horses.

Lovely small site with horse-riding school - great for the kids. Great location for the Cornish coast - only a few miles from Boscastle and Port Issac. Only problem with it is that it right next to a wind farm, so if there's wind turbines there must be wind!
