The shower/loo block is a ramshackled, scruffy affair. Only one shower was working properly. Sharing the facilities with wildlife - sparrows - is cute but they leave a mess which was not cleaned up and the construction of cobbled together chipboard and odd bits of wood doesn't lend itself to being cleanable.
The advertised wash-up had no hot water; there was no washing machine, fridge/freezer or bar as stated in their details.
The owners showed absolutely no interest other than keeping the grass cut.
The gentle west sloping site allows for good sunsets but catches the westerly winds and on windless evenings the adjacent bog seeths with midges.
Because we had booked and wanted a location central on the island we stayed otherwise we would have moved on.

Had planned this for a Covid free break, but the weather was horrible, the wind was so bad it snapped our tent poles.
A huge thanks goes to Martin and Tricia who saved our weekend. They could not do enough to help and made sure we had a great time. Thank you for the help and support you gave to save our weekend

An update on this site - there is now a nice shower in the block next to the pub and the whole area has been tidied up, there is proper flooring in the loos and it looks as if more showers are planned as they can be seen through the 2 locked doors in the middle of the block. The site, house and bog are all up for sale though, so not sure if these further improvements will happen. It's very quiet out of season, we are here for 12 days and only had neighbours for the first 3.
This time we are at the other side of the hedge at the bottom of the field which is better (but you need to put your satellite dish a long way in front of your unit). There are views from here and lovely sunsets when the weather is clear. There are also hardstandings.
The price is still £12 per night.

This is an acceptable CS near the village of Gwalchmai, almost in the centre of Anglesey so easy to get to most places. To find the site, would suggest leaving the A55 at J5 and then get on the southbound A5, through Gwalchmai and turn left after about a mile, just past the old tollhouse. There is about a mile of single track road which is perfectly ok; the site is on the left.
Dave the site owner is very friendly, cost for the site is £12 per night which we thought was fine.
There is a bit of a slope, you will need your chocks and levelling blocks especially if you want to be at the bottom of the site to obtain a Sky signal. The facilities are ok, clean enough but the loo block next to the pub has a stone chip floor and the walls and doors are a bit tatty, as are the doors on the other block at the top of the site where the showers are. We didn't try the showers so can't comment on them. There is also a washing machine.
The pub is quite nice, very small, cheap. There is outside seating but beware the mozzies in the evening! There is an area of bogland adjacent which belongs to the site.
There is a convenience store in Gwalchmai, an Asda and Lidl at Llangefni, Tesco and Morrisons on the A5 on the way into Holyhead. Petrol at Llangefni (on the way out of town towards the A55), at Valley and at Tesco.
There is a big car boot sale on the A5 on Sundays, down the road from the site and turn left.
