Please note that whilst the Hedgehog Rescue Centre remains open, we have been advised that the campsite has closed, and no longer offers camping, motorhome or caravanning pitches. If you know that this situation has changed in the future, please could you let us know. Many thanks

Great little site, have a lovely time. You can have fee and full access to the Prickly Ball Hedgehog Hospital. We watched a falconry display, meet some rescued hedgehogs and bottle feed a lamb, the toilets and facilities were clean and modern. They also have a cafe on site with good food. Am looking forward to visiting again soon. Great access to seaside towns

I may seem a bit OTT by giving this site all 10's, but honestly I truly and sincerely believe it deserves them.

There are 18 pitches, 5 specific Caravan and the rest Tent pitches.

The Caravan pitches are grouped together, the tent pitches are dotted around a Slope, bout don't let put you off. Because each pitch is level so creating a tiered affect on the slope.

Pitch 18, on which I stopped for four nights, is separate to the rest of the pitches, being across the driveway.

A section of the Donkey/Pony field having been fenced off to form the Pitch, which fitted a Folding Camper and awning and a large car with room to spread well out.

This pitch being rather special, as in the evening either the Donkeys, or the Pony's are put out to pasture in it. So you have some lovely neighbours. The pitch is level.

All pitches appear to have Electric Hook Up points, on the pitch, so no need to fetch Extension Leads.

The Sites owners, have only been in possession for around 12 months, and it is very clear, the huge amount of work they have put into the facilities.

There is a Fresh Water point. A Elisan point, which is fenced off from the view of the site. A sink with hot water, and Recycling bins.

I can not comment about the Female toilets, being a Single Male. But the Gents has 2 toilets, 2 urinals and a Shower, which is free. These were kept spotless.

Camping On-site gives free access to the Hedgehog rescue centre at all times, via a gateway next to the toilets.

The On-Site cafe, serves hi quality food, the portions for what they charge are unbelievably large. Again the Cafe is kept spotless.

There is a small shop selling Gifts, and a small range of Farm Produce.

There are several children's play areas within the centre, and a number of different animals to see.

If I did not live so far away, I would be a regular visitor to this site, I can not recommend it highly enough. Which is rare for me.

As I was down meeting Colleagues, for Training Purposes, I did not get to see much of the area. But I did notice that there is a Large Supermarket less than 10 minutes drive away.

We stayed here in February with our 2 young children & another family. I booked via phone and spoke to a couple of very helpful girls each time. We were looking for a reasonably priced site for the weekend close to home. I can say we were pleasantly surprised with this site as you can walk around the rescue centre, which was fab for the kids so much space to play with the open ground or fab adventure playground, plus a few animals to see. Can I just point out this hedgehog hospital is not to be compared to other places like crealy etc some people are unrealistic it is what it says it is! The new shower/toilet block was open and adequate for the size of the site. The views and peaceful settings are well worth a visit alone. This site is in a great location for heading to the moors, tragos, exeter, Plymouth & Torquay etc We had a fab weekend and would definitely stay here again :-) The new owners were friendly and passionate about their plans for the future of this park.

Had a pleasant one night stay while visiting family. Booking process very relaxed and all by e mail, owner happy to accept payment on arrival.

Site is under new ownership having reopened in about July with a number of changes already carried out or planned. Site is small but has stunning views over the Devon countryside. Added bonus is access to the wildlife centre at all times which meant we had a lovely walk round with no public about, saw a recovering fox that normally hides when the public are admitted.

Toilets and showers are a bit of a walk but very clean and the shower looks new and at 20p a lot cheaper than some sites we have stayed on. Understand from the owner that new shower block is planned nearer to the campsite.

All services nice and close to plots.

Will certainly use again.

Small site with narrow lane access but stunning views from the pitches. There are limited toilet facilities and only one shower (with charges), so could get quite busy peak season I imagine. However, the cafe on site is great and all the staff very helpful. The area is very quiet (apart from the owls at night)! Being able to visit the Wildlife Centre at any time was great and would be good for a camping family, but not so good for very active children. Limited attractions locally but tops for peace and quiet and just relaxing. Thoroughly enjoyed our week there.

Lovely campsite although not a huge amount of space between each pitch. Only 5 flat hardstandings on quite a sloping pitch with the tent site below the hardstandings. All amenities catered for and beautiful views of countryside with added bonus of free access to the wildlife centre all day.

Toilet block a long walk into the wildlife centre, especially in the middle of the night and some of the walk not terribly well lit but as we were in a motorhome this didn't matter. There is a lovely playpark within the grounds of the centre that you have access to until 9 at night.

Quite narrow roads to get there once of the main road although only about a mile off the main road. Caravans and large motorhomes managed to get there but wouldn't really like to meet anyone coming the other way. We had a lovely time and wouldn't hesitate to go back there.
