I agree with previous review and add that we are here at the end of season and one toilet block is closed. The hedges are high, good for privacy but left us feeling hemmed in. The wi if is free but not very good. Toilet block is clean and well looked after. Very helpful in reception and as said before close to the wonderful chateau of Villandry and this site could be a good base for visiting the towns and chateaux of the Loire. I would probably recommend this site but feel there maybe better in the area of the Val de Loire. A pleasant one night stay.

This site sits immediately next to the River Cher, about 15 km south west of Tours. Checking in was straightforward. The pitches are a good size and hedged. The entire site is fenced and there are security gates. The grass is protected with plastic netting for campervans. There are also pitches for tents, play areas and two separate toilet and shower blocks with washing facilities. Take note, there are no loo seats or toilet paper but the facilities are fairly clean. Electric hook-up and drinking water taps are provided to some pitches. We think the pitches facing the river are without hook-up. It is just a minute’s stroll into the village, where there are a couple of bars, a hotel, bakers, butchers, tabac and a small supermarket. Next to the campsite is a children’s park and picnic area but the chief attraction of this site is the cycle track, which runs alongside it and goes all the way to Tours in one direction. Sited next to the river it also provides a pleasant walking route. We used the track to cycle the short distance to Villedray, where there is a fair choice of restaurants and cafés and the magnificent Château du Villderay, which is well worth a visit, if only to see the formal French gardens, restored by Joachim Carvella, whose descendants are still the resident family. We enjoyed our three night stay at this site and particularly the location. It is worth noting that a car park close to the site and facing the river seems to be an aire for overnight campervans.
