Well it IS a lovely site very pretty and small, only 30 pitches. We were at pitch 13, with lovely views over the valley. The showers and loos were ok, not many so I guess there might be a queue if the site was full. The owners are from Scotland and very welcoming. You can order pizzas in the evening and breakfast in the morning and bread etc can be ordered the day before. The pitches are all a good size and quite level. Near to St Leon de Vezere, very pretty and Les Eyzies for the caves. Some good markets at St Cyprien, Le Buisson and Le Bugue. Will return!

Very nice little site with Emplacements situated in a very large oval around a central area, and a few more tucked away in a quieter area away from the main 'square'. Theres an open space for ball games, a badminton net, ping pong, a freshwater pool, and a small playground. The pool is fenced, for peace of mind. Very family friendly site, the owners David & Rhona were incredibly patient with our 5 year old who never seemed to tire of talking to them! The pool was very welcome in temps of +35, never been so hot when camping! Very quiet site at night, once the sun went down. More than adequate facilities, 4 toilets, 4 showers & 4 washrooms spread over 2 buildings at opposite ends of the site, 2 washing machines and a tumble dryer. Bread & pastries delivered every morning, you just write your order on the list hanging outside the office & wander down for your pastries, bread etc the next morning. There's also a small bar/ snack service, reasonably priced.
Once a week the owners have a communal BBQ, they provide the oil drum of charcoal, everyone is welcome to come over and put whatever they like on it. Its a lovely idea and we thoroughly enjoyed it, spending a lot of time chatting with the other Dutch and German campers.
Lots of key Perigordian attractions are close by; La Roque de St Christophe, Rouffignac caves, Le Bugue, Sarlat, canoeing and swimming in the Vezere are all HIGHLY recommended! Didn't get to Les Eyzies or Lascaux unfortunately, you must book several weeks in advance in season and we didn't. But it's close by if you do want to go. You must get to a market, if nothing else, we went to both Le Bugue and St Cyprian. Amazing fresh local produce, try your French out and soak in the atmosphere! Do go to St Leon sur Vezere and go to the little deli selling amazing platters of meats, breads & cheeses down by the river. It's a lovely location and the owners were far friendlier than the surly owner and staff of the restaurant on the main road!
In all a lovely lovely stay, marred only by our usually reliable van letting us down and breaking down both on the way there and back! But that's not the fault of the campsite however and we'd thoroughly recommend it.

25 emplacements surrounding a 'village green' type area with small swimming pool, a few swings/see saws, and lots of 'space' for games and/or spreading out to from your pitch.
Set within a very well landscaped site with a tiny brook bubbling through it and a family of ducks, chickens and cats adding an almost farm type ambience, this is a very relaxing place.
Kids love watching the animals and making dams across the brook whilst adults can laze on the central 'park' area or join in games with the kids.
The scottish owners (David and Rhona) are exceptionally friendly and know the area well. They live on site during the season and in Sarlat for the rest of the year. The family of ducks, chickens and cats go with them!
Two sets of 'Services' become 'stretched' at times. So ensuring that you time your visits can help reduce any waiting. The showers are 'belters' and the rest is at least adequate, though some more washing up space would help at peak periods (2 sinks in each of the 2 areas). English loos with paper provided.
The office provides basic provisions and gas cannisters and there is a basic bar service with snacks (pizzas etc). Though we didn't use them.
The area offers plenty to do:
In the middle of the Vezere valley (the centre of France's 'prehistoric man' area), good vists (from our experience) include:
Lascaux II. Not the original but a painstakingly good reproduction.
Font De Gaume cave paintings. Original (though how long you'll be allowed to see them is debatable). Book ahead unless you want to queue for a couple of hours on Sunday morning when they issue 30 tickets to the first there.
The Maison Forte de Reignac is a must. Great for kids too. Set into a cliff face and full of interest (I'd give the Prehistory Museum in Les Eyzies a miss unless you're a professor of archeology and Cro-Magnon man).
La Roque St Christophe is a huge gallery of the site of ancient cliff face dwellings. Interesting and half a kilometre long.
Canoeing on the Vezere is not the most exciting, though pleasant enough for a lazy afternoon. The Auvezere river is more fun. A small hire outfit at Cherveix-Cubas. Track down the signs with care!
The restaurant in Le Moustier is excellent (5 miles) and there is a good restaurant two hundred metres from the campsite entrance.
No wi-fi on site, but the 'emile et 1' sandwich bar in Les Eyzies is free with a coffee or whatever else you may want.
Sarlat is a half hour drive.
This is a great place to be away from the hordes on the Dordogne and still have access to it all.
