Friendly, family-run site located just off the A10.
As others have said, it is in the process of renovation. Level, hard standing pitches for vehicles have been made, plus a grass area for tents. Attractive pond and other drainage ditch, with the ducks wandering around. Within walking distance to pub and garden centre cafe for food and convenient for IWM Duxford or RSPB Fowler.
Cost per night was £30 (or £35 with EHU), which with the temporary state of the toilet / shower block is a bit high. The toilet block in particular is showing wear-and-tear and a permanent build is urgently needed. There is also significant noise through the night from the main road. Cash or bank transfer are only payment options, which was not made clear when I booked.

We will definitely come back, very friendly family running the site.
Lovely little site with space for children, who seemed to be having fun, nice pond around the site.
There had been ground works completed and the grass area next to your van was quite uneven but I am sure that will level with time, but just to note if you have and issues with mobility.

A lovely, quiet site but in the process of much needed renovation. Despite some disturbance on one day we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Very friendly owners, extremely clean female & male showers & toilets. Hard standing & grass pitches with or without EHU.
Mown grass & waterfowl sleeping on the banks of the wetland / pond and an abundance of dragonflies flying above the open water.
It is a 25 minute walk to Shepreth train station along the river Shrep & through the village for trains to Cambridge (12mins) Kings Cross & towns in Hertfordshire.
Dobbies Garden Nursery is a 10 min walk to the left of the site & the Green Man pub on the same road offers good pub food at very reasonable prices.
Contrary to some advert listings the site does accept dogs ( on leads) Our only negative is that at a cost of £25 + £5. 00 for EHU in June (£30 per night) it is quite expensive - this price would be more acceptable when the improvement projects have been completed.
This site can only get better & it is to be recommended.

This was our second visit here new owners who are making a lot of changes for the better.
The owners were cordial helpful and friendly.
We chose this site because it is only 4 miles from duxford, which was our objective.
Sadly we were ripped off by taxis companies

Basic but clean site is under new owners and as such is in a state of rebuild and renovation, site was quiet and tidy, pitches a little close but acceptable, toilets are currently portacabins.
Some road noise but not intrusive, nice dog friendly pub less than 5 mins walk away also a golf club and nature reserve in walking distance.
Melbourn village walkable shops and post office there bus stop nearby for travel into Cambridge.
Good value for the money £70 incl electric for 2 nights and a late departure, fair I’d say.
Look forward to seeing the result of the renovations as time goes by.

Well, where to start?
The location for our requirements was perfect, we wanted to visit a number of English Heritage and NT sites in the area.
When I got through the very pleasant lady, Pauline, explained that they only just taken over the site and the facilities were very old, and very limited. However we have a reasonably modern van in which we normally use all the on board facilities anyway.
Upon arrival we were given an easy pitch to reverse onto, it was level and a type of hard standing and so met our needs. It was, however, narrower than any I've ever been on and, again, the owners assured me that the pitches will be considerably bigger when completed.
I'm going to try to be constructive:
The toilet/shower block (shed) is to be replaced; we understand that. The chemical disposal point will go with it; we understand that. I also used that to dispose of the grey waste as I couldn't see anywhere else.
We were charged £30 per night, off season, PLUS electricity (£21 just about saw us through 4 nights) and whilst I wouldn't have stepped foot in it the shower I noticed it had a 50p meter on it.
I'm sure that when it's all modernised it'll be great and worth the money but I'm unlikely to use this site again at that price. I understand business, you need to make a profit however the prices need to reflect the current conditions and not what they are likely to be in the future.
I'm sure with the sun shining and the grass cut it'll look lovely, the river, the ponds and the wildlife are all there to be enjoyed. There's also The Green Man within easy walking distance that served up some very nice meals at 'pub' prices, which we could recommend.

Friendly and helpful owners. Picturesque site with ducks waddling about the waters edge.
A peaceful location set back from the main road, A10, no traffic noise.
Facilities are basic but this is reflected in the price.
I enjoyed my stay with a pleasant cycle ride to IWM Duxford avoiding any main roads.

We planned a visit to the Thriplow daffodil festival to meet up with family - I recommended that weekend to everyone.
Our usual campsite, Cambridge camping and caravan club site, was closed for winter. So we looked around.
We spent 2 nights at Shepreth Mill camp site. It has many good things going for it, level, quite quiet and reasonably tidy.
There were a few downsides however. Gosh it was expensive for the facilities on offer. £23 per night with electricity on top - we are sure we paid in advance for our 2 day's power, nevertheless it went off in the middle of our second day.
The loos were adequate but basic and were closed down, out of order, from half way through our trip. The back up facilities were not good.
Overall I don't like to leave a negative review - but we won't be going back to Shepreth Mill camp site.

It was lovely. Tim is a very pleasant host and is extremely helpful.
The door to the loo/shower block banged when people didn't take care to close it gently.
Tim is aware and agreed it needed seeing to.
We will definitely go back.
The Green Man pub is within walking distance and serves delicious food.
There is also a coffee roastery called Hot Numbers - worth a visit too.
