We booked a stopover for an outward and return leg of a journey as we have family nearby. We had struggled to find a site open this late in the season and given the location thought this place would be ideal.
Unfortunately the pub is under new ownership and much of the information on the website is outdated and misleading. The price of £20 a night is outdated, the owner tried to charge us £25 when we arrived, thirdly there are no on site toilets, (toilets in a pub across a car park that shut when the pub does do not count), next up there is no elsan point, there is also no dedicated area to empty the waste water.
Aside from the above points I'd add for those considering staying here that the site is a field behind a pub. All of the facilities are based at the pub. Which is the otherside of a very large car park. There is no signage on site and very little lighting. There is also no gravel, hardstanding as you enter the field so access on and off site involving going through a very muddy area that had been churned up by the vehicles.
The pub food was overpriced and not the best quality. When we asked for coffees after our meal the waitress acted as though we'd asked her to do us an enormous favour. It was very strange.
The only redeeming features were the location, the friendliness of the manager when we first arrived and the fact it was open. However when I realised there was an alternative site a few minutes drive away that actually had serviced pitches for less money I switched our stay for the return leg.

Nice quiet site for those who like to walk lots of foot paths from the village.
We were disappointed that the field had not been mowed and some of the electrical hook up boxes were over grown with briars.
Overall we enjoyed out time there and look forward to returning. We tried the beer and had lunch on day 1 friendly owner and staff.

A very quiet but basic site with no facilities for children/ no play area etc. Firm level field fully enclosed by bushes/trees and some well established bramble bushes (we're definitely booking in later in the year)with easy access through the pub car park (we have an 8mtr twin axle van towed by 4X4 and had no problems at all get on or off the pitch).
Facilities are limited but there are 12X16amp hook-ups.
Water is available from a tap at the back of the pub near to a grey waste drain ( I'm not sure about this as, when I asked about Chemical disposal points I was told that there isn't one - only grey waste but on checking the 'pit' I could see remains of toilet tissue so I suspect this was used as the CDP by the previous owners)I did raise the issue with the owners as the website says that there is CDP but, apparently, the previous owner has the passwords for the website and won't give it to the new owners so the new owners can't change anything on it. The 'Facilities' shows Members only but we were not asked to show our membership cards and there is no dedicated dog walk but our two scotties had a great time following scents up and down the field on a long lead. If you're not sure - ring them and ask, they are really friendly and very happy to try and accommodate you. However, the pub is open from 7am to 11pm and they are happy for you to use their facilities which are standard pub loos - no showers and no mirror for shaving etc. Although they were always clean.
The pub is a 17th century coaching inn with low beamed ceilings and B&B rooms as well. The place was packed on the Friday evening but there was absolutely no disturbance from the customers when they left at closing time. We heard more noise from the birds in the trees around the site perimeter the next morning!
Recently taken over by new owners who are doing a really good job of transforming the place- the Sunday carvery is really good and worth every penny and the obvious lunchtime rush shows that local people rate the food as well.
The site is close to the Town of Bourne where there is a Sainsbury's (2miles)in the centre of town and Tesco's on the left as you follow the A15 south on the outskirts of the town- both 24hr for the little things you always forget and even a tescos petrol station on the way into Bourne.
1. 5 miles North of the site, on the A15, in the Village of Morton is an excellent Fish and chip shop (ideal for a late friday evening arrival on site).
On the outskirts of Bourne, on the Stamford road, is Bourne woods with a good set of marked paths to follow.
The site is centrally placed for Spalding (flower festival), Boston, Grantham, Stamford (Burghly horse trials) and peterborough (Truckfest- BMF Rally etc) all being roughly 15 - 20 miles away.
