This campsite is on the beautiful Wellbeck Estate. It was our son's first night under canvas (he's 18 months) and for us it was perfect. It took a while to get hold of anyone to book, but I text in the end and we were booked in. Once we'd found it (you take the entrance for the 'artisan food school') we found a huge, flat field and we could choose our pitch. There were only four other tents there. The facilities are basic, just loos and a tap for drinking water, but this is reflected in the £7. 50 a night fee. There was some road noise, but nothing that bothered is. On the estate is an amazing farm shop which sells the best chocolate brownies ever. If you want a simple, back to basics experience I can't recommend this place enough.

Wow! We were amazed to spend two nights completely on our own in an enormous field. If you're after something fairly basic, but lovely at the same time, you're on for a winner. We were going to a wedding nearby and didn't want to stay at a big caravan site and this ended up being just right. We pitched close to the Lady Margaret Hall - toilets and water there and backing on to a private tennis club. We loved the fact that it was all part of the Welbeck Estate where there is an artisan cookery school! We visited the Garden Centre, rather lovely cafe and award winning farm shop twice as it was all so inviting. You would probably not hear anyone else if the site was at full capacity of 5 pitches. Price wise an absolute bargain at £5. 75 a night. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for somewhere in this region for a couple of nights. (Probably need a shower thereafter!)Our two year old thoroughly enjoyed it and we felt safe there. Lovely flat field with no stones/ bumps and plenty of exciting nature in the area.

Took a 3 night August bank holiday break at this C&CC certified site situated on the Welbeck Estate between Worksop and Mansfield on the A60.
The site as you should expect (being a certified site) is very basic with water / Elsan and the use of a toilet situated in a well cared for field.
Perfectly situated for exploring Sherwood Forest, Clumber park and Sherwood Pines all of which are great for walking or biking.
The Welbeck Estate has a welcoming and remote feel to it and there is a complex on the estate that has a quality Farm shop, Garden centre along with a Yeomans Outdoor shop and a Cafe that serves some lovely homemade cakes.
Great value at £6 per night.
