Clean tidy and well maintained grounds with plenty of space for a motorhome etc.
Toilets and showers were all in the one block which was very clean.
The whole block was nice and warm which made it very comfortable. Have stayed here before and am looking forward to retuning again.
Easy walk into Portrush.
8 out of 10Pleasant and helpful staff.
SCORE. 8OUT OF 10.

The site has been renovated during the closed season and now all pitches are fully serviced and on reinforced grass.
You can book the site online and at that time you can select your own pitch which is handy if you travel as a group. When you arrive you are given a barrier card & information about the site.
The site is convenient to both Portrush and Portstewart.

The staff were very helpful and friendly especially as we hadn't been at the site before, likewise the amenity block was spotless.
We went as a 2 caravan party & all of us really enjoyed the site, the location is great as there is a bar/ restaurant within a few 100yds away and if you want to walk into the town you can do it via a coastal path.
Touring site pitches were dated but I'm saying no more as the site is getting a £2million make over in time for the 2016 season. We'll be back & that's a cert!

Have only discovered camping recently and have only stayed at thee sites. However I love, love Carrick Dhu
It is all immaculately maintained and cleaned, the shower blocks and amenities are spotless. I've stayed at dirtier hotels!
The tent area is in a walled area with only a few tents and a short walk to showers.
The entrance is gated and you are given a pass on check in and you return it in check out.
It is 5 mins walk to closest beach. There is a restaurant 5 minutes if you turn left at entrance. Portrush town centre is a rough 15 min walk in other direction with all the shops, amusements etc you would expect. There is a small shop and chippie at the entrance.
The only single downside is no option for EHU for tents unfortunately. I can live with this though given everything else.
I felt completely safe and relaxed lovely atmosphere.
Would thoroughly recommend though the most expensive site we've stayed at. I think it was £22 per night and then 50p for showers.

We have just bought our touring caravan and had our first outing over Easter, staying at Carrick Dhu. We used this as a base to look at other sites and Carrick Dhu came up 1st overall.
When we checked in, all be it nearly an hour early, the man on reception was very friendly and another employee drove in front of us to our pitch. Each pitch is spacious, the area is very clean. We had individual electric hook-up and there were plenty of water outlets.
The toilets and showers, dish washing facilities and sluice room were spotless and cleaned everyday. The showers were 50pence for 6mins 30 secs, it beeps when you are on your last minute, there was always plenty of hot water. There were 2 hairdryers at 20p a go but this is the only negative about the site, the hairdryers only last for about 30 seconds. However the electric on site never tripped once and I was able to use my own hairdryer and straighteners in the caravan.
The site had a park, which again was spotless however my 9 and 10 yer old said it was a bit small for them, perhaps would suit up to about 7/8 year olds however they were happy to run about on their bikes and roller skates. The games room also had pool and snooker tables and was located at the front of the site. Shopping way, there was a Mace on site and a chip shop 'the Atlantic' which we tried out and although not the best ive ever had, the fish supper was enjoyable and one was enough for 2 people. The staff in both the mace and takeaway were always friendly.
Check out was at 12noon, which was ample time to get packed up. Although it was cold and windy, we had a great time. We walked along the coast into Portrush to Barrys, it took just 20 minutes. We went into Portstewart and to Benone (17 miles away) the views were outstanding.
All in all, carrick Dhu gets 10 out of 10 from us, for friendliness, cleanliness and great location. We will definitely be back over the next few weeks

This site is located just beyond the end of the promenade that runs behind one of Portrush's lovely, sandy beaches. It is within easy walking distance of Barry's amusement park, Waterworld and the harbour. There are plenty of shops in Portrush and larger supermarkets at nearby Coleraine. There is a small shop at the site itself as well as a take away.
The site is mainly statics with a flat field for touring caravans and a separate, walled area for tents. The tent pitches are slightly sloping but otherwise flat and of a good size even for our large tent.
The man who runs the site is friendly and helpful. The site is barrier controlled, clean and well maintained. The shower and toilet block is the best I have ever come across in three years of camping! Plenty of toilet, shower and sink cubicles and all maintained to a high standard. Showers cost 50p but this gives you plenty of hot water (with temperature control) and there is a digital countdown that tells you how much time is left.
The tent field had big rubbish containers (emptied regularly) and a cold water tap. The shower block was a short walk away with the pot wash to one side of it. Although the site was busy I never had to queue for any facilities. We would stay here again.
