A real gem of a site, a large field so you were not on top of each other and very peaceful but not far from the hustle and bustle of everyday living. The owners are really lovely and very helpful if you need to ask anything. The on site facilities are basic but cover your requirements if you need it (no shower, just a very clean toilet and sink). There was access for clean water and disposal of waste water, and recycling waste bins on site. There was also the added bonus of fresh free range eggs should you need them. The views are stunning. We were visiting family in the area and it was an idea location as it is so close and easily accessed, we will definitely use this site again.

Visited this site for the first time - thought it was very peaceful & remote. Would definitely return here again. Owners very helpful & friendly. Very large field to camp on & can pitch anywhere you like. Grass trimmed regularly. Road in front of site was very quiet & very few cars used this road. Toilet door was criticised on a review we read but this has been replaced. Can't wait to return here! Adult only site so very quiet overall - perfect.

Had this site booked for quite some time, we wanted to visit the areas where last of the summer wine had been filmed for ages and never got round to it.

We were pleasantly surprised, the lady that owns it is very friendly and helpful, whilst leaving you to get on with things. Just a point of interest she has five great danes and they are a beautiful site to see but huge, also two pet turkeys that are huge, they are kept separate from the caravans. There are a few chickens and what looked like grouse that wandered around.

The site is adult only.

You can pitch where you like on nicely mown grass within reasonable distance from the other units, it is slightly sloping so levellers are needed. The views are good and it's nice to look over at all the lights at night.

Your own facilities are needed and the price reflects this but there is a toilet at the farm, there are electric hook ups.

It was a pity about the country road along the front of the farm it is long and straight and cars seem to go very fast, there was no footpath making it difficult to walk our dog as she was frightened of the traffic. That said just off this road a little further along are quiet lanes where you can reach the reservoir it takes about fifteen minutes.

At the back of the farm, about a field away is a large modern windmill, (we like them) but it does spin very fast and so makes quite a noise, it didn't keep us awake but for light sleepers it may.

There are no pubs or shops nearby though this suited us.

Holmfirth is a really lovely little town about six miles away passing beautiful scenery on the way. Take the right past the farm continue round and down, we had to stop half way to take in the views. Fantastic.

Holmfirth has quite a few pubs, eating places, an old picturedrome where they have live acts/bands, there is a large co-op too with easy parking.

We took the summer wine tour, the bus runs most days from outside Sid's Cafe (they do lovely scones), the tour was excellent with the driver pointing out most of the Summer wine 'hot spots'. Also in Holmfirth there is a small museum dedicated to the show which is below what was Norah's house which is now a tea room called the Wrinkled stocking.

Another place of interest is the grave of Bill Owen (compo) easily spotted by the green wellies at the church on upperthong lane.

A really good day out was the mining museum at Huddersfield, go down on the underground tour and travel back in time with lots more to see all free.

We enjoyed staying at this site and fell in love with the area, it is definitely on our return list.
