Lovely campsite on the shore of Lake Garda within and easy walk to Bardolino.

The entrance to the campsite is steeply sloped and quite small and people tend to queue there instead of pulling over into the parking area, which can cause a few issues when there are several arrivals and departures all at the same time.

The roads around the site are very narrow with some tight corners - sometimes not helped by inconsiderate parking by some cars. You do have to be careful of some of the trees which overhang the roads or are on corners - but its the olive trees that make this a pleasant place to stay. Our ACSI pitch was quite small, but just long enough for our motorhome which is about 7. 5m with the bikes on the back.

The sanitary block we used was modern and clean, the only small issue was that there was nowhere dry to hang your clothes or towel whilst you're having a shower. You have the choice of either hanging them outside in the public area, or putting them on the wide window ledge in the shower cubicle itself.

We didn't use any of the leisure facilities on site but we did use the mini supermarket (cash only) which has a good range of food and drinks and isn't expensive.

The campsite is well placed on the Lakeside with a 15 minute walk to Bardolino or a 20 minute walk to Garda.

It is a large site with some seasonal touring units and also lots of chalets to rent but never the less it has lots of well placed touring pitches both with or without shade.

The shop on site sells most things and has lots of freshly baked bread/ newspapers/ beers and cooked hams etc. There are around 6 different toilet/shower blocks and are constantly being serviced.

The swimming pool is very clean and all swimmers must wear a swimming cap - These can be purchased at the pool for €1. 50.

There is also a restaurant on site but we tended to visit Bardolino to eat where there are lots of choice eating places -

The thing to try in Bardolino is the ice cream - its terrific and also reasonably priced

We chose this location because on previous hotel visits to Lake Garda we had seen the many campsites along the edge of the lake and fancied staying there.

We chose this particular site as they gave ACSI discount, though we knew beforehand that the 3 rows nearest the lake couldn't have the discount. There are chalets to rent, and tiny bungalows which have no bathroom.

We arrived early evening not having booked, and were offered an ACSI pitch for 1 night as they were all booked up after that. The pitch was rather muddy as it had been raining, and quite small, but fine for us.

The next day we decided to stay on a non-ACSI pitch and moved, but then were able to get an ACSI pitch for the rest of our stay. The site appeared to be completely full the whole time we were there.

The receptionists were multilingual, and very friendly and patient, the site is large and customers demanding! Check out is 1pm, and you pay before you leave, so there is always a queue of people waiting for pitches to become vacant. Payment is cash only. You must wear a wristband whilst staying there.

The pitches appear to be quite small, the corners tight, and trees overhanging, we saw some interesting manual handling with people trying to get large units in and out.

There were a number of sanitary blocks with separate facilities for men and women, all cleaned regularly. We eventually found a block nearby which appeared to be quite new, and not quite as busy. The water was hot, washing up was good, and there were laundry facilities too.

The site had excellent facilities, the mini mart had fresh bread every morning, and was as well stocked as any in the town centres. A separate shop sold fruit and veg, plus beach type goods. There is a restaurant/bar which we didn't use, a swimming pool, and outdoor gym. There are organised activities for children in the mornings and disco or suchlike in the early evenings. There is a watersport centre operates from the site, which can be used by non guests too.

Outside the site is an area of grass with some shade and access to the lake for swimming. There is a public toilet and shower there.

The site is conveniently located about halfway between Garda town and Bardolino, an easy walk or cycle along the lakeside path, and where you can catch the ferry to other towns on the lake. You don't need a car here. But take care whilst walking on the path, bicycles whizz up and down all the time, day and night, and it's rather dangerous.

We loved our stay here, and would use this site again.
