 This is the second time we have stayed at this site, our first time was with our touring van, but this year was a last minute decision, so we booked a static. The staff are very friendly and most speak good English, the pool is definitely a plus point for children with slides and lazy river (but does get very busy) park has swings etc and tennis/football area. Bar has something going on most evenings from karoke to quiz's but mainly in French, and takeaway is nice and very reasonable.
Van was basic as you would expect in France, but clean and comfortable.
This site is great if you are staying in a static, but in my opinion (from our stay in 2011)is unfortunately not a site designed for campers. Pitches are only situated where they can not fit a static van, on corners mainly, and are not well maintained, and also cramped for van and awning too.
St Jean De Monts is a lovely area with miles of beach, horse riding, quad biking, and nice surrounding towns to vist, cycle friendly but lots of free car parking too! Atlantic toboggan water park is great and St Gilie croix de vie is good for restaurants at night.
We return to the area every summer as we love it, and I would say this is a lovely site, but would I stay at Les Genets again? in a static yes, but we missed our own caravan so will be taking that back to our favourite site next year.

Stayed at this site during early August 2012. Reception were very quick and helpful on arrival and let us on our pitch early as it was empty.
We were situated near a toilet block which worried us, but actually was not a problem as the toilet blocks were not used much as most of the site was static caravans. Toilet block was very clean and the main part of it was locked at 11:00 pm leaving only two toilets and sinks available for use. I don't know if this was the same for the other toilet blocks.
The site was busy with lots of trafic, most people seemed to drive everywhere! Though our kids biked around the site and people seemed to drive safely. The site was 50% british/irish and 50% french (no dutch!) Our kids loved the site and made friends easily. The pools were warm and reasonably well maintained. They really liked the lazy river.
The site was quiet most evenings. There was a disco on on a couple of nights but it wasn't too loud on our pitch and the security was very good so there was little to no noise after 11pm, something we thought would never happen so close to the coast.
Pitches were sandy, which didn't bother us and the weather was beautiful the whole time we were there so we didn't see what they were like in the wet. You could also use the facilities of camping aculpolco dabout 300m down the road. The beach was about 800m away. Roads were busy and most people seemed to drive, we did once and there was plenty of free parking.
St Jeann de Monts was worth a visit in the evening, plenty ot tat shops and ice creams.
We would recommend this site and would go bac, but be aware that it is busy and lots of cars driving around. The rating is also based on comparison to other coastal sites, not comparing it to some of the lovely inland sites we have been to.
