This visit was a disaster! The site itself was scruffy and forlorn. There were the burnt out remains of a motorhome on one of the pitches, having been there obviously for a while, no attempt having been made to tidy up.
On arrival madame finally stopped trying to errect a caravan awning and came over to us saying " No water - sanitaires closed!" Monsieur finally left the awning and got us a jerrycan of water with some reluctance.
The ACSI rate was 30 Euros. I had paid a deposit of 15 Euros and refused to pay any more in view of all the above. Monsieur was most unhappy. The on site restaurant was advertised as open but was closed. The town was dead at this time of year. To cap it all, the electricity for the whole site gave up at 7. 00 am.

What can I say about this site. Personally, we did not enjoy our stay but that's not to say others won't, so it’s probably best to give a good points, bad points review.
Positive first:- not too far from the A5 -just about 35-40 minutes with good access. It is within easy walking distance of the pretty town of Auxonne and has a good outlook over the River Saone across to a little marina. It is right next door to the municipal swimming pool and has a launderette and busy restaurant on site. Showers old fashioned but spotless and very good temperature and power. Bread and croissants available to pre-order and pick up in the restaurant the next morning.
Not such positive points:-
The pitches nearer to the river obviously do have a tendency to flood as there were still cones round some of them due to previous inclement weather. The site itself was quite scruffy and unkempt and was very empty given that it was July. Apart from us and about 4 other Dutch and German units there was a large party of Irish kids who seemed to be unsupervised running riot around the site throwing stones at each other and the like. Similarly the owners of the site let their beautiful but large dog run around the site. He was called back after a while but had already set off all the leashed dogs barking. He was called back after a while but as responsible dog owners, we always do as instructed and keep our dog leashed. Another resident of the site also let their Jack Russell have the run of the place. It was very hot during our stay and there were swarms of midges and flies. We are from the West of Scotland and are used to these little blighters but we were tormented by them, even outside on the restaurant terrace, so much so, we cut short our meal and went and sat in the van for some relief. The restaurant was busy with locals but we found it to be expensive compared to other restaurants that we had eaten in during our holiday. For example 13. 50 euro for Lasagne and Salad and 12. 50 for fish and chips. All main courses on the menu were similarly priced. Both options were OK but given that we had been eating 3 courses of proper French food for 12 euros including wine, we thought our bill of 42 euros for food, 2 beers and 25cl of house red was expensive. The pitch itself was the most expensive of any of the stops we made at £28 euros (that was with a baguette and 2 croissants added in for good measure)
The campsite hosts were not very welcoming bordering on terse making my attempts at French and my big smile when checking in fail at the first hurdle. All in all the impression was that the restaurant not the campsite was their first love. A bit of care, some flowers around the place, and a more active role in managing the site rather than the restaurant might make this site a more pleasant option for a longer stay.

Used this site as an overnight stop on the way south. It is very easy to get to and when we got there we could choose any pitch. We chose one further from the river near the old sanitaires as it looked busy down by the river pitches and we wanted an easy hitch up in the morning as we had planned to leave as soon as the barrier lifted (I think it was 8 but do check if you are planning on leaving early as there was a very irate van driver wanting to head off and they were stuck).
Facilities were old but very well maintained with plenty of hot water. As it was an overnight stop we did not use the hookup therefore saving a bit of money.
There was a bouncy castle and a small playground that kept the kids busy.
We had intended on eating a nice pizza with the family and having a drink, but the prices were a little steep for what you can get elsewhere, so I took the opportunity to go and fill the car with fuel and buy some nice pizzas, beer and wine from LIDL in town. The meal worked out 1/3 of the price.
Ratings are middling as it was only an overnight-er.

Pleasant site at the side of a river, easy access to town, shops, supermarkets. We were early in the season and little had been done for the 2016 opening consequently everything was a little shabby. The toilet blocks are dated but clean and adequate. There was equipment for children but again due to early season in need of a clean up a little TLC. In fairness the weather was not kind being very wet and the river Saône was in full flood eventually seeping on to the site and when we left we had to drive through some 10 cms of water. Would imagine in season it would be quite pleasant.

We've been to this site twice now and it is a lovely site in every sense of the word. Location is good with supermarkets and shops near by. Lovely towns that are not too far to visit. I think the site and the town are far too over looked by people that stay for the one night. If they just took some time out to visit the area they would see just what a lovely place it is.
There is a very good restaurant on site that serves really good food and wine.
The showers are good and clean.
Really good size pitches with plenty of room.
Lots of history in the town.
A very relaxing campsite whether you are on your way south or coming back north.
We will definitely return sometime soon.
Great site for kids as there is a good play area and a bouncy castle. Also lots of room for them to play within sight. Good also if they have bikes or scooters.
Oh and I nearly forgot the donkeys they love being fed.

We have been travelling around Europe and we have to stop at this camping site. It was nice place the only thing we have to get some food and in the town across the river the only place was open is pizza place and one bar. The woman showers was clean but men's wasn't draining properly. When we stayed there the weather wasn't nice so don't camp by the river side try to take the side straight ahead.

Good quality Municipal, just across the river from the main town. Didn't visit, but looked like a nice country town. We used it as a stop-off on the way south - as it's not on one of the main direct routes, it didn't look as if reservations were needed.
The facilities were good, with market pitches around the 90-100m2 size, toilets clean and cared for. As is usual, the site is next to local sports facilities. The on site restaurant was worth the visit, including a chance to try absinthe made nearby. Our family now refers to the 'Green Fairy campsite. ' I'd go again - good site for touring.
