 What an absolute gem of a find !
This is a 2 star site with a 5 star heart …
We spent 5 nights here this July, our first visit, and we have rebooked for 2023.
44 pitches, a few static homes, but plenty of emplacements to choose from.
As recorded in previous, Celine and her family are the perfect hosts, making you feel welcome and at home from the minute you arrive.
The larger more ‘ professional’ naturist campsite providers could learn a lot from Celine ….
Spotlessly clean, adequate facilities, on site boules court, kids playground, and lovely covered and heated pool, mean a perfect stay for all.
Go, you will return, I assure you.

'Camping du Port’ naturist campsite at La Ronde in the Marais Poitevin has recently changed hands. A lovely young lass called Celine has bought it and made considerable improvements, including putting a cover on the heated swimming pool, and adding a feminine touch to the sanitary block: each washbasin has its own hand wash dispenser, and each loo cubicle not only has toilet paper (not to be taken for granted in France) but also an aerosol air freshener. And you can adjust the temperature of the hot showers.
The site is well signposted, and access is easy. A security gate with passcode keeps nefarious intruders out. Celine, who speaks English, will give you a lovely welcome and a personal tour of the site, and you don’t need an INF card. The electricity is 10 amp, and perhaps best of all: there is excellent wifi throughout, and it’s FREE – putting the more expensive upmarket sites to shame, some of whom charge the earth to go online, when almost everybody these days requires wifi when travelling.
Places worth a visit are Marans and Coulon, and you can take a boat trip through the canals from Damvix.
La Ronde is more than just a useful night stop en route from northwest France to the south, it’s a very pleasant place to stay.

We found Camping Naturiste Du Port thanks to UK campsites. We have camped naturist on and off for many years, mainly in France. We thought we would see what this site was like, it seemed as though you didn't need to book for a full week.
As we were in high season we didn't know if they would be able to accommodate us for a short period. Our French isn't great, especially on the phone so we sent a simple text in English asking if they could take us for three nights during the third week of August, hoping they would understand it. We had a text back the following day saying they could.
The site is on the edge of a village down a small track off the main road, which was easy to find. We had a warm welcome from Céline who had only just taken over the site this year. She walked us round, showing us the available pitches, her English is pretty good as long as you speak slowly.
The site is in a small wood with most pitches benefiting from some shade. The toilets (UK style) and showers could do with updating but they are spotless. There is a lovely small swimming pool with an unshaded grass sunbathing area next to it. On site is a charcoal communal barbecue area.
Nationalities staying on site were mainly French with a few Dutch, Belgian and German, we seemed to be the only English couple. As with most naturists everybody was very friendly and welcoming without being pushy. Bouls competitions are organised by campers and all are welcome to join in. Saturdays Céline organises a communal meal with some music, which wasn't an obtrusive sound level.
The night fee's are very reasonable, around 10 euros cheaper compared to other naturist sites and there's FREE Wi-Fi which covers the whole site not just the reception area. We liked it so much that our three nights turned into twelve and we will definitely be returning in 2019 for a lot longer.
If you are new to naturism or a little shy we really do recommend you try this site, like us you may fall in love with it.
