We have been coming to this beautiful little site for many years, we come for the stunning views over looking the Roaches,
It is part grass and hardstanding with only EHU Drinking water and chemical waste,
There is a fantastic dog friendly pub The Lazy Trout just down the road, fabulous food.
It is ideal weekend retreat for us has we don't live to far away,
The kennels going onto it is no problem, you hear the dogs just feeding times morning and evening.
We love our peaceful time here.

Beautiful peaceful and not crowded.
Reading above about dogs barking its next to a small dog kennels and they bark in a morning and later during exercise as dogs do but most of the day you hardly hear them. If you have dogs of your own it’s certainly not an issue.
There are lots of lovely local walks.
Minutes away from Tittersworth resivoir. If you like a good hike you can walk to the roaches which is your view from this site.
A lovely friendly pub The Lazy Trout minutes away. Excellent food and dog friendly. This is our 3 rd visit as we are new to caravanning but we love it.
The owners are very friendly and easy going about arrival and leaving times. We have three Newfoundland dogs and don’t get charged extra for dogs.
We highly recommend it! 😀

Our first run out in the Van for 2015!
Had a great weekend here. The view of the Peak District is breathtaking. No matter which pitch you pick your view will be outstanding. It's a very basic site. No Showers/toilets but that is reflected in the price (£12 per night, even at peak times and weekends). It's not commercial and is ideal if you fancy a quiet holiday away. The owner was fantastic. On asking him when he wanted us to leave the pitch he replied 'when your ready. '.
It's hard standing, EHU, fresh water and drainage facilities. Yes. You can get a phone signal and the TV will pick up over a 100 channels. It's also a good base for Alton Towers. Its a 25 min drive away.
We will be returning soon. Well worth a long weekend.

We've been using this site for a number of years, as its a great peaceful location for a weekend away what ever the time of year. However the site has been spoiled by the adjacent farm (owner of the campsite)running a kennels.
Through out our stay we had to endure constant dog barking, and we are considering going else where for our next short break.

This is a great site if you don't need showers, toilets and that's why you have them in your caravan. If you enjoy the outdoors. We and our friends have used this site almost every year for 2 or 4 days as we only live about 30 miles away, but its a nice little gem. Owner is very kind. You will be better to phone to get a pitch. There's water points and elsan point. The ground is almost level and the views are outstanding looking over the roaches. At £12 per night I think this is good with electric. Loads of walks and bird watching. Pub 5 min walkn also nice day out at Tittersworth Reservoir 10 min walk from siten town of leek 10 min drive or 30 min to buxtonb 30 min stoke on trent.

I can endorse all the previous reviewer has put a brilliant little site, this was our third visit. We love walking to the reservoir and also climbing (the easy way) the Roaches. Fantastic views and the bird-life visiting the site and at the reservoir is incredible. On our first visit November 2011 it was snowing as we left - and we left just in time as very heavy snowstorms followed. Unfortunately the owner has now opened dog kennels at the farm next door. The barking was very loud and persistent particularly early morning. We have earplugs and so it didn't spoil our stay, but some may find it annoying.

This site is a cracker all pitches are hard standing with electric no toilets or showers £10 with electric for 2 adults and 2 kids. This site is in the most picturesque view as all pitches are facing the roaches. And tittersworth country park is a 10 minute walk which has a plenty for the kids to do with a big play area and some fantastic walks around the reservoir.
There is a pub just a short stroll down the country lane called the lazy trout which provides a good meal and a pint with a nice beer garden. Having been to this site a couple of times the site owner is very friendly and laid back you only see him on the day you leave when he comes to collect your money. Fantastic site in fantastic location will happily return again.
