We spent a week here. It seemed one of the nicest sites on the presquile.
Positive points:
Sanitaires- only in one place, near the entrance to the site, but in two rooms. Both were mixed, but ladies one side, men the other. 20 showers in all, loads of WHB, 8 privacy cubicles. Loads if washing up sinks next door, hand washing sinks and 2 washing machines. Plenty for a site of about 100 pitches, and lovely and clean. And toilet seats! No urinals. We had been on a trip around France and these were the best facilities by a mile. Still no soap and paper, of course!
There are baby washing facilities too, two baby baths with shower attachments.
All the taps in and outside the sanitaires are drinking water, but there is nowater elsewhere on the site. Outdoor showers too for swimmers and wetsuits.
Ideal if you are into diving, as there is a diving school next door. Restaurant and Pizzeria on site, pizzas very good, around 12€. A small shop on site for basics, bread, beer, wine, fruit. Near the harbour, about 2 mins walk away were two more restaurants and a couple of shops.
Boats to the off shore island leave from the harbour, though we didn't go there.
The site is quiet and relaxing. There are some shady some sunny, some mixed pitches. Pretty good wifi, cost 20€ for a week, but worth it, and all over the camp. You can chose your pitch. Good English spoken at reception, and staff friendly.
Good mix of nationalities, German, Dutch, French, Swiss, Italian, Austrian and a few UK. Views from the sea from some pitches.
Other points ( not negative or positive )- you could not plug in your electricity yourself, the staff had to come and unlock the electric and plug in for you.
Pitches of medium size, probably quite good for near the coast, but large units seemed to have a bit if a struggle sometimes.
Some mobile home type things, in a separate part of the site, near the entrance.
No facilities for children, playground etc.
Negatives:
There is no beach to speak of- there is a small cove to the left a short walk along the coast, but the few places you could immediately swim had masses of seaweed and it looked like a continuous problem as there were huge boulders of the stuff dried out on the beach and in the coves. You cant swim from the beaches anywhere near the harbour. We thought there would be more walks along the coast but didn't discover them. We like to walk and there seemed fewer walks to do than we would have liked.
The sanitaires would be a bit of a trek if you were at the far end of the site, but if you had a pitch near the entrance not a problem. Some motorhomers moaned about this, when emptying their toilets and grey water but not a problem for us.
To sum up, we really liked the site but were slightly disappointed with the beaches and walks, but very good value with the ACSI card.
