 Clean facilities, with plenty of hot water, friendly owners and pitches in good condition.
About a mile walk to Gobowen and a lovely 2. 5 mile walk along the canal to Chirk Viaduct.
Only thing that let this campsite down was the road noise.

We had a wonderful 2 night stay. Very tidy site with a very clean toilet and shower block (unlimited hot water in shower for free).
Only downside is the proximity to the A5. Very noisy but I too found after a couple of wines I didn't notice.
We will definitely stop again.

Nice small site very handy if you want to stop off en route. Lovely shower block with all facilities.
Good hard standing and electric hookup.
Our only criticism is the busy A5 running alongside, other than that site is great and very helpful on arrival.

Stayed for three nights in our caravan. The new toilet block is excellent, spotlessly clean with with lots of hot water. When we were there the inside had not yet been painted.
The pitches are all hard standing and level with individual waste water disposal. Access is very easy via the Lion Quays hotel gateway. The site owner is most helpful and is there to ensure your stay is comfortable.
The only down side is that the site is just the other side of the hedge from the busy A5 main road and hence it is very noisy so would recommend the same solution as we found. A few glasses of wine before bed. Problem solved!

Stayed on this campsite on our way to north wales, a bit apprehensive on arrival but after one night absolutely loved it.
The showers are spotless and brand new, Mr. Roberts (the owner) was lovely and didn't hassle us at all, liked it so much stayed again on our way back.
The wildlife is stunning with the throughshes, robins and rabbits to keep you company. All in all a lovely quiet site, wished I had stayed there for the week instead of travelling on.
Will definitely be going back in August for my birthday.
We don't have children but the site is secure, our little pug dog also loved it he could run around until his heart was content.

Only 30 seconds from the main road between Wrexham & Welshpool, great for a mid way touring stop.
All hard standing pitches & easy access at the entrance to Lion Quays Complex,
£12. 00 per night, all pitches have waste disposal to make life easier, all round good site,
No toilet block on site, but waste bins & chemical disposal unit are all at the other end of the field,
Nice patch of grass in front of all the pitches for exercising the pooch or playing games,
Loads of space between the pitches,
Will stop over again when heading towards south Wales
