We loved the location and our early morning swim in the river.
It is a lovely quiet site, very peaceful with great facilities.
The sunny weather helped

I stayed her over a weekend with my partner as part of a small festival.
There are several glamping options, and a small field for standard campers and small campervans. The festival was held in a larger back field which they sometimes hire out for events.
The venue manages to be both remote, and surprisingly accessible. It is a 20 min drive to Penrith or Carlisle (Penrith has possibly the best fish and chips in the country!). There is a nearby trainstation, and a small shop in the village of Armanthwaite.
It is a truly beautiful and peaceful setting - no nearby loud roads, and a picturesque view of the viaduct in a few places. The river Eden runs alongside the campsite, and in the summer is placid and perfect for paddling or wild swimming.
There are compost toilets, recycling bins and a large barn/bar for events.
The owners were very helpful and kindly allowed us to re freeze our freezer blocks.
Dog friendly. Limited disabled access.
I am keen to go back here, and would be happy to recommend it!

The toilets are clean, the staff are friendly and the site is run well. Site is ideal for kids, was plenty of them in their wetsuits in Ullswater. There is a little park too. Pooley bridge is a 10 mins walk. We ended having to camp on a hill because they had some bad rain and one of fields got water logged and we didn't arrive till 4, so we had to find somewhere, where it was dry and that was on a hill. I wasn't happy at first having to camp on a hill but it turns out camping on a hill is a better night’s sleep for me - and my partner agreed. All in all good site. Will go again.
