See previous reviews re Sat Nav directions as the road is closed and you need to go to the next roundabout before turning left to the campsite. The site is large with quite a few English residents who seem to live there all year.
Cons
The pitches are hard standing but the surfaces vary considerably. We were on pitch 178 (a lilac pitch) the surface ranged from 2cm stones to quarry dust, the dust turned to a quicksand-like texture when it rained. When I told reception, I was assured that someone would come to look at it. However no one did and my husband had to use a dustpan to move chippings on to the dust sludge so that we could walk on the ground in the awning. Also the hard standing was very hard, even steel nails bent when trying to peg the awning in place.
In September it seems that all the branches of the trees are cut off, while the immediate trees around us were not cut, there was the constant noise of the chain saw and the shredder.
Pros
The bar was good with reasonable prices, and the restaurant was very good, especially the Sunday lunch.
A good selection of entertainment throughout the week with tribute artists at weekends.
The showers and toilets were very good, always clean.
In a good position for Benidorm and Calpe beaches.
Near-by Alfas del Pi had a selection of bars and restaurants that we visited. The Consum supermarket was good, we used it a lot as the site shop is rather small.

A great site & we had great weather!
The road has changed as someone put & there are no signs so if using Sat nav make sure you update it! Took us 15 mins to work out where to go.
But once there we found the pitches big, we where on 8 overlooking the pool, tennis courts & bar/restaurant, very handy! Also only a short walk from 1 of 3 shower/ laundry/ dishwashing blocks, we found them always clean. Pool has a lifeguard & was open from 10. 30 till 8pm everyday. Bar/restaurant served a lovely selection of food & the English breakfast at €4 including a coffee! was great value.
The small shop is run by David a great bloke who has not had it long but has a good selection of stuff for sale at very reasonable prices.
The pitches are hard standing but all have electric & water, they are separated by trees & shrubs & some people have put up small fences & slabbed 'their' area. Some statics & tourers seem to be permanent residents, many English, witch gives me my only gripe, we overhead a very loud resident English man saying 'why should so many Spanish families be allowed on here in summer'! I couldn't believe my ears! It is SPAIN! He went on to say 'they need to remember its us English that keep this place going all winter'! So arrogant!
The local area is great & we happen to be there as gay pride week is coming to an end & really enjoy the carnival in Benidorm on the Saturday evening. We went out to benidorm mostly in the evenings as at midday it was always over 30degrees & 1 day hit 41. ! Altea was another lovely place but much quieter than benidorm. We shall definitely be returning.

See my previous review below also.
Easy access from main roads when towing a caravan. The road to the campsite has been closed off the N332 so go to the next roundabout, sign Al Faz, and turn left at new roundabout, then left at next new roundabout. Almafra is on the right.
Almafra is easy to drive around when towing and has large flat pitches all with electric, water and drainage. The on site shop now open 8am-9pm, 9-3 Sunday. It still sells frozen UK bread and bacon. Baguettes are available here and in the bar.
Toilets are modern and were ok until the Spanish came at Easter. Should be cleaned more regularly at busy periods. Showers were good with easy 10 second push buttons.
I found the local Al Faz service station the cheapest for diesel and it has an auto car wash. TV is now BBC1, ITV, 5 and E4.
Wifi is free in the bar but bad around the site if you pay. If you are staying a few weeks reception can get 'Cloud' to put a mast at your pitch and modem in your caravan. 90euro deposit you get back when you return them to reception. I used it for iPad and freeview TV.
I visited 6 other campsites around Benidorm and personally would only use Almafra. Some dislikes for me at the other campsites were, shanty town seasonals, small pitches, very sloping pitches, long walks for toilets, long uphill walks for water and drainage, tight corners when towing, long walks to bus stops. The buses are one price for one or 40 stops, 1. 50 euros or 1. 30 with card.

My wife and I stayed here for 25 days. We were given no. 1 pitch, next to the pool and restaurant /bar. The pitch was large with plenty room for our caravan, awning, car and space left over. It had 16w electric, water, drainage and analogue British TV - BBC1, ITV1, BBC News 24, Channel 4, ITV3. The pitches are on hard ground mostly covered in gravel so you need strong, pointed pegs and a tough groundsheet.
This is a very large flat site with three toilet blocks. They each have modern men and woman toilets, (not like the French unisex ones) showers, dishwashing, hand clothes washing, washing machines, a dryer, ironing and chemical disposal.
The site has had lots of trees and bushes planted so the pitches will be better separated in the future. There is a small shop with basics including real British bacon and bread.
There is a good supermarket selling lots of British food at Al Faz del Pi about a mile from the site with sensible prices and a large Carrefour an easy 5 mile drive along the N322 main road.
The restaurant / bar is clean modern with very pleasant hard working staff. Beer was 1.50e (£1.20) a pint, Sangria 7.50e (£6) a litre. All sky football matches are available in the bar or on the outside terrace.
The outside swimming pool was cold, I only managed 20 minutes (April) in it but the indoor pool (small charge) was lovely and warm with a jacuzzi like a hot bath. There is a bouncy castle and a small playground next to the pools.
There is a good bus service to Al Faz, Altea or Benidorm from the site, every 15 mins. The fare is 1. 40e (£1. 20)for any journey or 1. 15e(92p)if you buy a bus card for 10 or more euros. 15 minutes to Benidorm and it passes the 'Palace'.
The train station next to the site has trains to Altea, Benidorm and goes as far as Alicante.
The Scotsman who looks after the entertainment was very good. He sings, does the karaoke and play your cards right. There are a number of British people living on site who frequent the bar and are very friendly and make you feel welcome.
I found all the staff, reception (good English), cleaners, maintenance men etc. Very polite and helpful.
The wifi is 12e per week and is ok but goes off sometimes when using Skype. Wifi is free in and around the cafe /bar with good reception. Internet is available in the bar /cafe.
We booked here for 10 days over Easter week as it was cheaper.

We stayed on Almafra while on a Winter Rally with the Camping and Caravanning Club and although we enjoyed the Rally the site is Ok but there are better.
The actual site toilets and showers were nice and modern as was the main site reception building and bar/restaurant but the pitches were not the best, some were nothing more than mud and grass while other's were made up hardstanding.
On the plus side all pitches had individual water taps and grey water drains and on the EHU bollards there is plug in TV points through which you could watch analogue British TV - BBC1, ITV1, BBC News 24, Channel 4, ITV3.
The site is well situated for catching the local Bus and train into Benidorm which is ideal if your a motorhomer and have no transport.
The nearest shops are 2-3 km from the site at
L'Alfas del Pi or Altea which a bit further.
Benidorm centre is about 5 miles from site and 15 minute bus ride.
Because of the proximity of the N332 there is also some road noise although it just background hum so not to bad.
Would we use the site again ? probably
