Firstly the caravan field is lovely, a mixture of grass and hardstanding with fruit trees dotted between some of the pitches and a picnic bench in one corner,
The site is all long grasses with mown pathways cut leading to the fishing lakes however they are all surrounded by overgrown grass and lots of weed in there and no landing stages so its a bit difficult to land your fish and is also quite high up in places.
The entrance gate has a heavy chain and numbered padlock so its in and out of your car fiddling with the padlock to open and shut gate.
The toilet/shower cabin is basic and the steel trough washbasin and floor wasn't cleaned the whole week we were there but if you have your own facilities its a lovely pitch.
While walking my dog I saw a deer, a heron and 2 pheasants around the pools so great for wildlife.
The owner Dave is a very friendly and easy going chap but feel it needs a bit of care and attention especially around the cleaning and disposal areas.

We visited 4-7 Sept 2015 and the site was recently mown and looking good. Pitches were large and segregation achieved by small fruit trees (apple, cherry). The pitches are very slightly sloping - our caravan needed about 5cm lift at one side. There are 2 fishing ponds and wildlife abounds - I enjoyed an early morning stroll round with my camera.
Access is through a gate set back from the road - but not far enough to allow the car+caravan to clear the road. The gate had been locked and we didn't have the code (owner said he normally provides when confirming booking). Mobile service was poor and we had to reverse into the road and drive into the village to phone - so pls ask for the code when booking. Not a major drama and we thoroughly enjoyed the stay.
The owner arrived just after we had driven onto the site - warm and friendly welcome with info about the site and village.
The toilets were clean and adequate. The ladies had only one cubicle so queues inevitable if busy.
We would return. Had to rate child friendliness 5 due to deep ponds.

Stayed here in June 2015, during a tour of Norfolk. What a gem this placed turned out to be, peaceful quiet and very relaxing. Close to the village of Hillgay with superb butchers/general store. The site very well laid out with excellent dog walks, fruit trees in abundance, the owner David takes a real pride in the site. Well cut paths and pitches with excellent electric supply. Very clean toilet block. David is very friendly and helpful guy. At the end of our holiday in August we paid a return visit, expecting it to be full, we were most surprised that we were only campers there! This was without doubt the best site we stayed at in Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridge. Cant believe that the site was not full! Our main reason for staying here was for my fishing, the site has two extremely well stocked pools which gave me excellent sport, one day catching 72. We will be most certainly return. This site and owner really deserve to do well. Could perhaps benefit from a shower block, but most Motorhomes and caravans hve there own. The site is very secure with a numbered padlocked gate.
