Great site on the bank of the Dordogne with some pitches overlooking the river.
Reception spoke good English and could not have been more helpful.
Toilets and showers (unisex) were all good and clean. Pitches were a good size and grass.
Bar that serves food, swimming pool and of course river swimming.
Canoes available from next to site and a short walk to the really lovely La Roque Gageac village.
Takes ACSI discount card out of main season so at €17 a night, great value.
There is a Camping Car Park aire attached to the site.

A really nice campsite on the edge of the Dordogne. We had actually booked in 2019 for a 2020 holiday - then Covid put paid to that. Tried again a year later but once again. !
Cyril (the owner) was fantastic online and honoured my booking and transferred my deposit forward each time. We were so glad to finally visit last month.
We really liked the site and was allocated a riverside, shady pitch with a view of Chateau castelnaud. The almost nightly hot air balloons flying over and down along the river was beautiful to watch.
The central amenities block is very well kept and the showers were very good. We use our own onboard facilities but Mrs les8366 used the showers after swimming in the very nice pool.
There is so much to do within a short journey from the site - La Roque Gageac, Beynac, Montfort, Sarlat (very good market), etc
To get to the site do not be tempted to bypass Sarlat if coming from Souillac. The D703 through Carsac-Aillac is steep and very narrow in too many places with overhanging rocks. It made me question my sanity with a twin axle caravan. The route through Sarlat is good and easy.
We will definitely return to this site

A great site. Firstly a warm welcome from the owner.
Our pitch was massive and right on the river which was fantastic.
A minor point-the pool felt a bit exposed and needed some planting around it, but it was nice to use.
The sanitary facilities were very clean.
The medieval village is 10 mins walk away and it was nice to watch the balloons go overhead of an evening.
On a 5 week tour of France this was definitely one of our favourite sites and would return.

Great location next to the Dordogne with pitches facing the river. We were given a free hand to chose where we pitched and chose a corner spot looking over the river and also across the fields towards Chateaunaud ( well worth visiting).
I swam in the river and we cycled to the superb gardens at Marqueyssac also to Chateaunaud castle/ museum and the walk into the local village with troglodyte buildings is very nice. Lots of restaurants and you can take boat trips or hire a canoe.
Lots of walking by the river and plenty of wildlife (I saw an otter).
The site has clean facilities but no toilet seats or paper, sadly. There's a nice outdoor pool and wifi is available throughout the site. There's a bar on site and you can order pizzas. There's also a small library but few English books.
The facilities are in the centre of the site but there's quite a bit of walking to get water, empty cassettes etc.
A nice site.

Good friendly reception, picked our own pitch but the riverside ones were all taken. Pitches are grass (very worn in places) with plenty of shade.
There is a pool, children’s play areas, boules Rink, bar which serves food and direct access to the river beach which is large stones.
The toilets and showers are unisex all in one central block and were kept to a good standard. Walks are available from the site including a shortish walk La Roque-Gageac.
Would happily return, we used ACSI discount card which gave great value.

The site is easily accessed and situated on the riverside west of La Roque-Gageac on the road between Beynac and Domme a few miles south of Sarlat. The whole area is very picturesque.
We were at this site in September - low season - and found it to be relaxed, quiet and very handy for visiting the many places of interest. I would think that in August this place would be very busy. There is an outdoor swimming pool but we didn't use it so cannot comment on water temp. Toilets/showers are adequate and generally well kept.
Pitches are grassy some with shade if required.
There is direct access to the river 'beach' and canoeing is available locally.
