My friend & I arrived at approx. 11am and although officially registration was at 4pm the receptionist kindly let us book in early. I had read reviews that the receptionists were rude, unhelpful and refused to speak English. The opposite was true. We tried out our French and she replied to us in good English and answered all questions helpfully.
The shower and toilet facilities were unisex which I didn't like, especially as the only hand basin in the toilet block was right by the urinal. We expected to use our own toilet roll, but it would have been nice to at least have soap available to wash our hands. The shower cubicles were a tad on the small side too but a good water temperature.
The laundry and dishwashing area was clean but closed around 10pm.
The pitch we had was surrounded by static caravan/park homes and the ground was so hard we had to resite our tent in order to put the tent pegs in. The ground was either rock hard or very sandy, but luckily we had excellent weather so no worries about the wind blowing our tent away.
The biggest nuisance was a gang of children running around and shouting till nearly midnight every night.
On the plus side the surrounding areas and the many places we visited were lovely and the locals stood our French come English come sign language patiently. The beaches were all beautiful and clean. The public loos left a lot to be desired but there were plenty of bars etc whose facilities we used instead.
Lovely area but I won't be going back to La Foret to camp.

To make a positive comment about this site, the receptionist was very friendly and helpful. There was also a morning bread delivery if you wanted it also a pizza van parked there every evening and I also saw on the Friday morning as I was leaving a van selling roast chicken.
Now to the negatives. The pitch for our tent was a grassy sand area sandwiched between and behind static homes therefore we had no view. The ground looked as if there had been a static home on it previously and the ground was so hard that we bent quite a few of our tent pegs trying to hammer them into the ground. The toilet and shower facilities were all unisex and the main toilet/shower block was locked between the hours of 1200 and 1700 then again from 2200 until 0800, between these hours the only toilets were 3 cubicles and 2 urinals with the only washbasin right next to the urinals.
The dish washing facility was also locked up at 2200 which meant keeping dirty dishes outside tent until next morning.
There was a ruling about noise after 2200 but there were gangs of children between the ages of approximately 3 and 15 running all round the site screaming and causing havoc in the washrooms up until 2330 every night.
The surrounding area though was very pleasant and walk to beach was about 20 to 25 minutes which was fine but we did use our car the second time as it was so hot on the walk back. The beach is lovely and the little town also very pleasant.
All in all the holiday was a good one but could have been better with better pitches and child control.
Personally I could not recommend this site and will not be returning
