 Large municipal site in pinewoods behind beach.
Good facilities (at least 5 sanitaries) inc. Washing machines.
No shop bar or restaurant but facilities nearby.
Busy even in Sept.
One night stay but one we'll try to come back to.
E19 per night.
Check if it takes caravans as D roads leading to it are quite narrow.

We arrived at Cap D l'homy after a painless 7 hour drve from Caen. Booking in was no problem and we were given a plan of the site to choose our pitch. We chose 1 at the far end of the site and set up our Kyham tent. There are plenty of toilet\Shower blocks which whilst old and tired were clean and provided plenty of hot water. Other than wifi of which there is a restriction of half hour a day, that's about as far as the facilities go. However that is the beauty of the site because everything else is perfect. The location, by the sea in a forest was fantastic. Its 1 of the quietest sites we have stayed on in France. We took our bikes and there are miles of traffic free cycle paths to explore. The site is just over an hour from Biarritz which is worth a visit. The local town Lit et Mixe has a few restaurants and a Super U. All in all a great site to chill out.

A large site with a good mix of pitches: tents and, caravans, motor homes and bungalows, about 2/3rds with hook ups. Mostly shaded under huge Pine trees. Mix of germans, french and brits. Gets very busy early August, but good atmosphere. Very safe site for young children: plenty of space for bikes, scooters, etc. Playground and games room for older children. Lots of toilets and showers, free hot water, very clean. The site is behind the dunes, and the walk across to the beach takes about 15 minutes, large sandy beach with supervised section and lifeguards in high season. Big waves and surfing. Cap de l'Homy village has restaurants and food shops, clothes and surf schools, about 10 minutes walk. Twice a week in high season there are barbeques and music. Bike hire on site, and lots of routes under the pines. Supermarket and fuel about 3 Kms. Lit et Mixe town about 5 kms: Free bus there in high season. Lakes to swim in within 20 kms
