Went two a group of any kids and parents. Confiding of tents, camper vans and caravans.
We pitched up our tent in the day. Which was allowed leaving us to pick up my child and not rushing around in the evening.
The field is lovely, safe, enough room for all. Toilets and wash basins where available, Always stocked with toilet roll and clean.
Great touch with coffee van on the morning. Would definitely come back and would definitely recommend. Also loads of play area in and around the camping field for the kids.
The price is also very good per person per night.

This site is a perfect spot to get away from everything and let the kids run free.
We have been regularly over the past few years and thoroughly recommend it.
Fire pits, all your basics and a really lovely space.
We sat and watched the stars, played rounders, paddled in the stream, cooked marshmallows and relaxed.
What more do you need.

I've been coming here for a few years now, so thought it high time I wrote a review! Campsite- very basic, no showers at all, but there are adequate toilets on site, plus cold water tap to fill up your drinking water containers. If you want facilities then this probably isn't the place for you. There is a shop/tearoom on site which sells basics etc though. This is a real nature lovers campsite, very peaceful and generally most of the partying idiots go elsewhere. No set pitches, just have a recce and pick a spot you like. Generally flat, no sloping fields so you won't slide down your tent! Nice and cheap at £6 pppn (in 2017), hopefully they won't start going the way most campsites are these days and getting greedy. Surroundings- this is in the heart of the South Downs National Park, not much else I can say as that speaks for itself! You can see Ditchling Beacon not far from the site. Plenty of walks direct from here, you can leave the car behind! Ditchling village a 10min walk with a couple of good pubs, and a small shop. Nearest supermarket is Tesco in Burgess Hill, a 10 minute drive away. I use this site quite regularly when I'm in the area (I paraglide from nearby hills!), and I always sleep soundly here, and waking up early in the morning, unzipping the tent door, and admiring the natural beauty is, in my opinion, one of lifes wonderful moments. So to sum up- wonderful campsite, but it is just a field. Fine for me, but it's not a holiday park. They do allow fires in contained firepits though. Wonderful place :)

What a lovely weekend, big field, you can camp anywhere, fresh drinking water available, only one ladies and one gents loo to use, however, I never had to wait to go.
Dogs welcome, recreation ground behind site was ideal for dogs to go to the loo.
Joined other at night around camp fire. Great weekend, can't wait to go back.
Easy walk to Ditchling for a pint at the White Horse. Ditchling is not great for general shopping.

Just back from an overnight stay here with 7 others.
The site was easy to find with good access (the pot holes in the entrance road had been filled in, so no weaving) and clear signage.
The camping area is next to a gravelled parking area. Its a single field with trees on 2. 5 sides. The facilities are basic - 1 water tap by the gate and another behind the reception/shop that leads off the car park. Toilets are simple, but clean - a little muddy after the nights footfall but nothing major, plenty of hot water but poor hand dryers. There is also outside seating around the reception hut that visitors and campers are encouraged to use.
The weekend we camped (Jubilee weekend) the campsite was nearly empty (only 5 or 6 pitches) which was surprising. The grass was very long (over a foot in places) but the ground underfoot wasn't muddy.
Fires are allowed as long as the grass isn't burnt - there are a few cleared fire pits around the site but not enough to suggest that its the norm. Wood is also sold in the shop but £5 for a smallish bag (6 or 7 short split logs) is a little excessive. The shop also sells basic refreshments, hot and cold drinks etc, but again these are over-priced.
There a few pubs within 15 minutes walk and a recreational field adjacent for group games. There are a number of footpaths that run through or near the site and the South Downs Way almost runs past the doorstep. There's no playground on site or nearby that we saw - so kids will have to make their own fun.
